This has led us to design bespoke products for restaurants, hotels, retailers and private clients creating collections that meet their exact requirements. Richard Brendon has created a limited edition run of its highly successful teaware Richard Brendon meets PATTERNITY to tie in with the announcement by G.F. Smith that Marrs Green has been voted the world’s favourite colour. Hand-made in Stoke-on-Trent, this striking contemporary bone china teaware is now available in this fresh and vibrant teal shade.
PARTNERSHIPS Richard Brendon have designed the afternoon tea service for the new Four Seasons Hotel, Ten Trinity Square, London. The building, which is now home to this grand hotel, was erected in 1924 by the Port Authority of London and it is therefore fitting that the design for the china was inspired by the site’s rich heritage of global trade and nautical navigation. The collection also takes elements from the building’s magnificent neoclassical architecture, while maintaining a refined aesthetic to ensure it reflects modern London. ABOUT THE FOUNDER While studying product design, Richard Brendon had a simple but beautiful idea. This idea became his signature Reflect collection and provided the platform to launch his brand in 2013 . Richard is native to Notting Hill and attended design school while working at a pub on Portobello Road. Every Saturday morning Richard saw this well-known road burst into life, as antique dealers from far and wide descended on the market to peddle their wares. As a designer, Richard’s insatiable curiosity was piqued by the plethora of unusual objects that surrounded him. Richard has had an affinity for ceramics ever since his mother took him to pottery classes as a child, however, it was the famous Portobello Market which developed his keen interest for antique British porcelain. Richard soon realised that, due to teacups breaking so frequently, there was a surplus of beautiful antique saucers, and he wanted to make these orphan saucers relevant and valuable again. Richard’s idea was to produce mirrored cups to sit on the antique saucers, allowing the pattern to be reflected in the cup, and thus uniting them as a perfect couple. After a trip to Stoke-on-Trent, and a couple of prototypes later, Richard was ready to exhibit his idea at his graduate design exhibition. To his surprise, his simple idea received critical acclaim and Richard was soon supplying many of the most prestigious retailers in the world. From here, Richard has had the opportunity to work with some of the finest British brands and expand his remit to include striking and modern designs in crystal.
CRAFTSMANSHIP All of our bone china is hand-made in Stoke-on-Trent, England, where the formula for this quintessentially British material was perfected over two centuries ago.

FLUTED Richard Brendon have partnered with Gleneagles to develop the new hand-crafted crystal collection, Fluted. Fluted draws inspiration from the decadent cocktail culture of the 1920s, and fits perfectly in the American Bar at Gleneagles, which has been masterfully designed by David Collins Studio. Like the cocktail glasses of the art deco era, the Fluted stemware is light and perfectly proportioned, while the tumblers are reassuringly weighty. Each piece has been
mouth-blown by master craftsmen in Bohemia to ensure your crystal is of the highest standard. The collection takes its name from the delicately placed fluted cuts that run the length of each piece. In the Richard Brendon signature style, Fluted combines just the right amount of traditional and contemporary elements to create a progressive yet timeless collection.

DIAMOND Diamond is a contemporary cut crystal barware collection that demonstrates the finest pairing of craftsmanship and design. Diamond brings a clean-cut look and feel to lead crystal barware. This has been achieved by designing simple forms which are mouth-blown by master craftsmen in Bohemia which are then hand cut with a tight diamond pattern to the lower third and bottom of each piece. As light passes through the crystal you will witness the piece being brought to life as it refracts into a myriad of colours and glistening sparkles.

BROGUE Richard Brendon are excited to introduce hand-crafted leather coasters, made by heritage British shoemaker Grenson of Northamptonshire, England. The coasters are inspired by the shoemaking process, using the materials, techniques and skills that Grenson have mastered over the past 150 years. Constructed of three layers of fine leather that are handcut and stitched together. Each coaster is decorated with meticulously punched holes that make up one of Grenson’s most popular brogue patterns. Brogue is a celebration of craftsmanship, leather and contemporary British design.

REFLECT Reflect brings life back to antique saucers missing their other halves by using platinum and gold gilding to create highly reflective cups. The mirrored cups reflect the patterned saucers, giving them a new lease of life and a place in contemporary homes. Each cup is skilfully decorated and then paired with a saucer, all of which have been meticulously sourced from antique dealers across Britain.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS Bone China Bone china can be washed in a dishwasher - at a maximum temperature of 60°C. However, where precious metals are used (gold or platinum) ware should be washed by hand and not used in the microwave. Scouring pads or abrasive washing agents must not be used. Soaking in warm water before washing will remove most stains or hardened on particles. Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking in a mild bleach solution for up to one hour without damaging the china. When storing plates, try not to slide them over one another as this may cause tiny scratches in the glaze. We recommend a paper napkin is placed between each plate. Crystal Wash your crystal by hand with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Scouring pads or abrasive washing agents should not be used. Do not put your crystal in the dishwasher as the detergents can permanently dull or scratch the surface. Dry your crystal immediately after washing using a lint-free cloth. Do not put your crystal in a microwave or conventional oven. Do not store your crystal glasses upside-down, the lip of the glass is delicate and may be damaged under the weight of the glass. Do not store food or beverage in your crystal, only use your products for serving. Prior to using decanters for the first time fill them with 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and let stand for 24 hours. Rinse thoroughly and dry. All pieces in the Diamond collection should be placed on a coaster to avoid damage to surfaces. Leather Use a damp cloth and a small amount of gentle soap to wipe clean. Leave to dry naturally and apply a leather protection cream. The base of the coasters is a natural, porous leather. We advise to keep the base as dry as possible, if this does get wet, blot away the excess liquid and allow to dry naturally.
