May 4, 1970 Dear Sisters and Brathers, The deep revulsion agoinst Nixon's war in Cambodia, Loos and Vietnam is sweeping across the nation. Colleges and universities 011 over the country ore shutting down in the wake of 0 general student strike. Anti-wor G.I.'s are preparing for mojor demonstrotions ot over twenty-five mi litary bases on Moy 16. And, here in Washington, this Saturday noon on Moy 9th, the New Mobe has called for thousands of Americans to demonstrate at the White House and demand NIXON OUT! Out of Vietnam, out of Laos, out of Cambodio and out of the White House! The invasion of Cambodia, the resumption of bombing in North Vietnam, the coldblooded murder of Kent students has shaken the movement to a new sense of urgency and unity. More than ever before there is the realizotion that only a people united in their OPposition to this war of intervention can generate the power to end the war. The strike by the students must become a strike of all the people against the war. A strike by G.I.'s would end the war. We need to build the support for G.I. anti-war action and help combat heavy repression. ThE ",ass, non-violent demonstration at the White House this Saturday noon will serve as a catalyst for revitalizIng and spreading resistance against the wor into every neighborhood and community. The strike must grow unlil NIXON OUT! ... becomes a reality. The need for money is urgent. Send cash or a check right now. A return evve lope is enclosed for your convenience. In another attempt to ,tifle dissent, the Nixon administration has handed down regulations prohibiting demonstrations on federal park land without a 15 day "d':"nee notice. Publie outrage at the invasion of Cambodia is so great we will go to the White House in spite of these regulations. 'N" will assert our right to peacefully assemble. The police may block us. If they also decide to arrest us, We will maintain a militant nO'1!'Oi~)t discipline, and options will be provided for those not pre pored for arrest. Meet us at the White House!
