Lafayette County Just off County Trunk W in the Town of Benton, follow portions of Buncombe, Kennedy, Beebe, and Ensch Roads. Length: 7.5 miles. Surface: Paved. Beautiful scenery and history distinguish this rustic road. R66 runs through the unglaciated, driftless area of Southwestern Wisconsin. Tree-lined roads wind through the hilly elds and farm lands. In autumn, R66 provides spectacular sights of the fall harvest and colors. An abandoned lead mine complete with tin shacks, rusted ore buckets and piles of tailings are visible from Kennedy Road. This serves as a legacy to the mining industry in Wisconsin that once produced 85% of the nations lead.
Rustic Road 70 Grant County Leave the U.S. Hwy. 61 at Liberty Ridge Road; portions of Hill Road, Ridge Road, Sleepy Hollow Road, Scenic Road to County Trunk E. Length: 10.1 miles. Surface: Gravel. This rustic road meanders through the contour-stripped farms and the tree-covered hills of the Platte River Valley. Liberty Ridge Road passes by a church built in 1861 by German settlers and into the quaint community of Stitzer while the other roads pass through the rambling countryside. One of the few remaining one-room school houses in the area is located on Scenic Road.
Iowa County Portions of Ogden Road, Bromley Road, and Turnbull Road between County Trunk A and County Trunk G in the Town of Mif in. Length: 3.7 miles. Surface: Paved. R75 resides in the Welsh Settlement area - so named because immigrants from Wales settled in Iowa County during the mid 1800s. The countryside is beautiful during all seasons. Wild owers and wildlife abound.

The bene ts of shopping farmers’ markets
• Freshness: Many people visit farmers markets because the fruits and vegetables sold at such markets seem to taste more fresh than those sold at chain grocery stores. Such people are not mistaken, as the produce available at farmers markets often comes from local farms, meaning there’s no longdistance shipping necessary. Locally sourced foods need not be frozen en route to the market, meaning foods purchased there tend to taste especially fresh.
• In-season foods: Some grocery stores may sell fruits and vegetables even when those foods are out of season. Farmers markets only sell in-season fruits and vegetables. To grow fruits and vegetables outof-season, farmers may need to rely on chemicals or other unnatural methods. No such means are necessary when farmers stick to growing foods inseason. Farmers markets are more accessible than ever, and the bene ts to shopping such markets are endless.
