The Richland Center Shopping News has been delighted to sponsor a hat and mitten drive for the past several years. Your generous donations are distributed via the Salvation Army to individuals in our area. The need within the community continues to be great. Once again, this year in an effort to expand our collections we’re also looking for individuals who knit or crochet. If you don’’t know how to knit or crochet you can still be involved by making a donation of yarn or money for us to purchase supplies. We will match up our volunteer crafters with the materials that are donated. The crafters will create warm, handmade winter accessories that are sure to be appreciated by many within the county. Please call Kenda at 647-2911 for more details on being a volunteer crafter. Donations of materials or cash can be made at the Shopping News, 272 N. Main Street, Richland Center. Please hurry! We need to start now to ensure we have a large collection for the winter season. Our deadline to deliver these many items to the Salvation Army is November 1st.

The 2016 Total So Far Is...

with money coming in every day. August 31st is deadline to credit contributions to the 2016 Walk year.
Thank You For Sharing... Thank You For Caring.
A Message from the President... As the Walk with G.R.A.C.E. 2016 winds down all I can say is “wow”. When the logo “It’s Open Season on Cancer, Let’s Bag a Cure” was selected how many people knew that over $265,000 would be raised! How many brats, hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken dinners were sold? Wish there was a way to track those bake sales, yard sales (rummage and garage also) the list is endless, people always find ways to raise funds. For that I give each and everyone a THANK YOU! As we look back at Survivors and Captains Night, UW Carbone, Gunderson of LaCrosse and our own Richland Hospital all shared how funds are used. Research that is being done, because of G.R.A.C.E. dollars. Research and procedures that could otherwise not be done. Thanks to local businesses, organizations, corporations, churches and individuals who donated to G.R.A.C.E. A huge Thank You to Ron Fruit, Phil Nee and Staff of WRCO. So much is done by them! Also, the same goes out to our hardworking Walk Chair Sue Klingaman. She has a way of pulling things together, getting it done and always with a smile. Thanks to the G.R.A.C.E. Board of Directors – We make a great Team. Thank you to each and everyone that has had a hand in Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination, Inc. See you at the Annual Meeting on November 17th, 6:00 PM at the Phoenix Center. THANK YOU TO ALL, Doug Duhr, President, Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination, Inc.
