OBITUARIES

RUTH E. WILLIAMS

September 24, 2017 Ruth E. Williams, 87, of Richland Center died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Pine Valley Community Village after a nine year bout with mantle cell lymphoma. Ruth was born October 5, 1929 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Ray and Rena Sensenbrenner. She was the second of four children. Her siblings were Andrew Coblentz, Richard Sensenbrenner, and Joan (Wolter) Sensenbrenner. She was raised in Wakefield, MI and graduated from high school in 1947 in Marenisco, MI. As a child she worked with her mother and siblings to feed the men that worked for her father’s lumber business. Later her family moved to Presque Isle, WI, where her parents lived until their death. Ruth and her husband Louis enjoyed this home for many years, remodeling it and using it as a vacation home. She graduated as an RN from Saint Mary’s School of Nursing in 1951 in Milwaukee, WI. On August 28, 1954 she was united in marriage to Louis E. Williams in Milwaukee. Ruth and Louis moved to Richland Center in 1955 where Louis practiced dentistry until his retirement in 2004. They raised a family of six, three boys and three girls. All the children graduated from Saint Mary’s grade school and Richland Center High School. In 1973, Ruth continued the passion for her nursing vocation. Her Curriculum Vitae is as follows: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Dubuque in 1979, Master of Education from the University of WisconsinPlatteville in 1984, a Master

of Science in Nursing from the University of Dubuque in 1991, a degree from the Parish Nurse Program at Concordia University, and completion of the International Parish Nurse Resource Center Faculty Preparation Program in 2002. After working at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, she resumed her nursing career at Pine Valley Manor in Richland Center. She taught Nursing at Pine Valley, Southwest Tech, Mount Senario College, and most recently at Viterbo College in LaCrosse, WI. She had been serving on the Richland County Board which led her to also serve on the Southwest Cap board and Richland Center Library Board. She was very honored and proud to be involved in bringing the new Pine Valley Community Village to the Richland Center area. She was member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and very devoted to God. She was involved with many church organizations over the years. Her most notable ministries were the RCIA, the Right of Christian Initiation of Adults and the Parish Nurse Program. Through the RCIA she helped bring numerous people to the Catholic faith. She also started the Parish Nurse program which helped people of the congregation get medical help. She helped people with life assistance from Saint Vincent de Paul. Ruth also published “A Collection of Parish Nurse Newsletters” in 2006. She received the 2014 Parish Woman of Light from Saint Mary’s Parish. These ministries were a large part of her life as was her personal devotion to the Catholic faith. Ruth is survived by Louis, her husband of 63 years, and their six children--Tom (Jane) Williams of Richland Center, WI, Chris (Diana) Williams of Eau Claire, WI, Cecilia (Steve) SaLoutos of Grafton, WI, David (Karen) Williams of Roanoke, TX, Mary Lou (Tony) Preston of Keller, TX, and Ruthie (Todd) Lemke of Rosholt, WI. She has eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren with another due in November. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sis-

ter, and a very dear sisterin-law, Ruth Ann Williams. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday September 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Roger Scheckel officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday September 28, 2017 at Stafford’s Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00p.m. with a Rosary at 3:30 pm. Another visitation will be held on Friday September 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. The family of Ruth Williams suggest that memorials be directed to Saint Mary’s Catholic School and or Pine Valley Community Village. The Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at staffordfuneralhomes.com.

Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, Missing you is the heartache that never goes away. I often talk about you with Love and sad regrets, As today brings back painful memories of a day I can’t forget. Sadly Missed By His Family
