JEAN K. DARY July 30, 2018 Jean K. Dary, age 83, of Richland Center, received her wings on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. After three months of living with pancreatic cancer, she decided the pain was too much and announced to her family that on July 30th she would be going to heaven. After two days of unresponsiveness, late in the evening of July 30th, Jean opened her eyes to look at her family and drew her last breath. Jean left this life as she had lived it – on her own terms. Jean was born on January 7, 1935, the daughter of Lott & Lula (Cook) Marshall in Rockbridge. She was the youngest of seven children. On June 28, 1952 she married Marion Duglas Dary in Lime Ridge. Jean worked at Schultz Brothers Dime Store for 19 years in bookkeeping. After Marion’s death in 1989, Jean started working

at Rockwell Automation. She worked there for 20 years, never missing a chance to work overtime. Jean was a fantastic cook and her coworkers loved her homemade beef and noodles and pies. Jean never considered herself a senior citizen, even in her eighties. Spending time with her grandchildren, then great grandchildren kept her young. Riding the tilt – o – whirl was her favorite thing to do at the county fair. Jean had an infectious smile and quick wit that endeared her to everyone who knew her. We are better people for having known her and we will miss her. Survivors include 2 children, Dennis Dary of Richland Center, Sandra (Joe) Layer of Richland Center; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Layer, Jeremy (Wendy) Layer, Tara (John) Weitzel all of Richland Center, Amber (Chad) Morris of Gotham, Stephanie Dary of Middleton, Cody Layer (Courtney Schuna) of Richland Center; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Wells of Reedsburg; sisterin-law, Marilyn Marshall of Richland Center; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion; parents; brothers, Wilford, Buford, Lynford; 2 sisters, Mildred, Hattie; and a great granddaughter, Reagan Lee Weitzel. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the

Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center. Burial will be held in the Sylvan Cemetery with Ron Fruit officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. On line condolences can be made at www.clarymemorialfuneralhome.com.
