Aquaclean Collection
Richloom Contract is thrilled to present the Aquaclean Collection, crafted with innovative fabric technology that enables stain removal with just water. Each fiber is coated with an invisible molecular layer that repels stains, including oil and pen ink, preventing them from penetrating the fabric. All fabrics in this collection are PFAS-free and produced to the highest sustainable standards with certifications in Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Oeko-Tex Step, REACH, and ISO 14001. Aquaclean Technology® simplifies cleaning for hotel operations, removing most stains with just water.
Water Resistant vs Aquaclean
How is Aquaclean different from other upholstery fabrics?
Standard upholstery products come with a stain repellent, offering repellency that allows any liquids, whether water or oil-based, to roll off the surface. If the liquid remains on the surface for too long or is pushed into the fabric (such as when a guest places a bag over a spill), the stain will penetrate the fibers. Once a stain has penetrated the fabric, it is difficult or impossible to clean due to debris already embedded in the fabric.
Aquaclean Technology® not only acts as a liquid repellent, but as a facilitator (stain release), for cleaning. Unlike regular stain repellents, Aquaclean combines repellent properties with the added benefit of stain release, to activate and carry away stains with water.
Treated with C0How to Clean Aquaclean Fabrics
1. Remove any excess residue on the upholstery, if applicable.
2. Apply water over the stain, either directly or using a damp cloth. Wait a few seconds.
Aquaclean Technology® guards against many stains including, but not limited to, pen, wine, mud, coffee, chocolate, ketchup, and marker.
3. Press down over the stain with a damp cloth and rub gently over the fabric in circular movements. If the stain does not come off completely, repeat the process as required.
4. Enjoy your fabric, good as new.
Are Aquaclean fabrics PFAS free?
PFAS is a collective name for more than 6000 substances that occur in widely differing consumer products. Concerning the textile industry, they are artificial substances that are efficient at repelling water, oils, grease, and dirt in general. PFAS (C-6 Chemistry or SR) is most widely used in finishing contract-grade upholstery fabrics. Textiles can release PFAS at three different phases of their life cycle: manufacturing, use, and disposal. These chemicals pose a threat to human beings, as this substance can accumulate in the body over time and potentially cause cancer. They are also a hazard to the environment because they are not biodegradable and have an extremely long lifespan. Aquaclean fabrics are PFAS-free. The development and innovation of Aquaclean Technology® enables us to offer PFAS-free fabrics knowing easy cleaning is possible. Traditional PFAS-free finishing (C-0 Chemistry) does not contain any fluorocarbon and therefore doesn’t repel oil and is often not as durable as traditional SR (C-6 Chemistry).
Aquaclean Certifications
The Oeko-Tex® registered trademark guarantees the absence of harmful substances in fabrics and that the manufacturing process does respect the environment.
OEKO-TEX® STeP certification sets the highest standards for both social and environmental aspects of textile and leather production, as well as for industrial laundries. This certification is a sign of responsibility towards employees and the environment and supports a company’s journey towards more sustainable production.
REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry.
The ISO 14001 standard is internationally recognized and provides practical tools for organizations to manage their environmental responsibilities. It is an effective means for identifying and systematically reducing potentially harmful impacts on the environment.
