Future for KIDS 20th Annual Golf Classic
Jan. 7, Whirlwind Golf Club
Swing into the weekend with this annual golf tournament, benefitting local nonprofit Future for KIDS. The day will kick off with registration and a shotgun start, then a round on the links. Golfers can expect a hot dog cart, bloody marys, beer and soft drinks, contests, a raffle, two mulligans and a golf gift. The event will be capped off with a dinner and awards ceremony. Proceeds will go toward the organization’s mission to provide mentor driven out-of-school time programs and camps that focus on academics, athletic and ethics to improve the lives of youth facing adversity. 10 a.m. $50 per golfer. www.futureforkids.org.
Dog Days at the Garden

Bring your furry friend for a day of strolling the botanicals on select Sunday mornings this month. Pets and their paw-rents are invited to walk the trails, heel for photo opps and meet other dogs and dog lovers while taking in the beauty of the garden. Gold Palette Artwalk

Copper State Beer Festival

Indulge in the largest craft beer and food festival in Mesa, where over 50 brewery, distillery and winery vendors will gather for a day to remember. Life’s Big Win

Zoo Move & Groove 5K

Parada del Sol

The 67th annual Parada del Sol Parade and Trails End Festival, managed by Scottsdale Charros, will honor the past, present and future of Scottsdale. Around 150 participants will take the street, from colorful floats, mounted horse riders and horse-drawn carriages to marching bands, wagons and stagecoaches. The parade follows a route from Drinkwater Boulevard along Scottsdale Road, finishing at Brown Avenue and Indian School Road. The Trail’s End Festival, a massive Western-style block party featuring a kids zone, food trucks, merchandise vendors and live entertainment, will take place immediately following within Scottsdale’s Historic Old Town District.
