IN LIVING COLOR
Otto Siegel’s style is an expression of how he’s feeling at any given time

Otto Siegel’s style simply depends on how he’s feeling.
“Style is more than fashion, a trend or blending in; it is a personal expression in body language and the first impression I’ll make,” he says.
As the owner of Genius Coaching, a system for parents of highly intelligent and sensitive children, Siegel is surrounded by a variety of people that inspire his unconventional yet modern style. On any given day, Siegel can be found in a designer shirt and casual yet sophisticated jeans, but the most important factor in his wardrobe is color.
Leaning into bright, bold shades can be revitalizing and recharging for Siegel. “Bright colors like orange and blue in combination with sweaters or jackets are my favorites,” he says. “As I feel more confident in my body language, dressing in style becomes more important.”
Though he turns to fashion magazines from France for inspiration, the accomplished author knows a thing or two about creating signature looks. “As a genius coach I want dress as an elegant outlier with trendsetting pieces that make me feel good and expresses the unusual and unique approach I take. Uniqueness is a very important verbal and nonverbal message for me,” he says.
What are your favorite brands? Desigual for the unusual look and extreme creativity; COS for the minimalistic design with lots of interesting details; One51 as a high-end designer boutique; Vuori and Lululemon for fitness and shoes by Steve Maden or John Fluevog.
What is your most prized possession in your closet? My Extreme sweatshirt I found at One51 for $425. I have several other expensive leather jackets and designer jackets but this stands out because only insiders know the value.
How does travel inspire your style? I love to see the cultural impact in different European countries as well as in Japan. France is usually one season ahead of us!
