VERY VERSATILE

Athleisure wear plays a major role in Ilana Lea’s person style, which combines functionality and sleek, minimalist design.
As the owner of Enerjoy Fitness, a boutique studio in North Scottsdale that focuses on longevity training, Lea’s style shifts from the gym to everyday life flawlessly. “I love formfitting clothes that let me move the way I want to,” she says.
Now that many luxury clothing brands are incorporating athletic wear into their collections, Lea has a wide variety of transitional clothes to choose from. She depends on Free People for its boho yet rock ’n’ roll vibe, Vuori for its soft fabrics, and Alo for style and comfort. Lea’s Hoka sneaker collection keeps her on the move and her Whoop wearable device is both stylish and tracks her biometrics.
“Feeling my best is the coolest look I have,” she says.
Lea believes that the rising popularity of activewear directly correlates to the desire her clients have to feel great at any age. “I’m not trying to be a teenager but I feel fantastic and I think that should show through. I’m less self-conscious than my younger self,” she says. “I encourage my clients to take pride in their bodies and show it in how they dress so I do the same. It’s about expressing your aliveness at any age.”
How does travel inspire your style? I love seeing what’s out there and how people in different places show up. In Tel Aviv where I lived before coming to the US, casual was always cool. Jeans, T-shirts with a hippie influence, simple silver jewelry, and of course a bikini and sweatshirts for the beach.
What is your favorite store? Athleta. It’s no secret that I love fit wear. I wear it to work at my gym but I’ll also dress it up with heels, accessories, and makeup. For me, Athleta has it all – great fits, color selections, lots of different styles, and it’s reasonably priced.
Who influences your style? Jim Strole and Bernadeane Brown. They never downplay their presence which inspires me.
