Responsibilities:

• Reading plans and specifications to determine scope of work • Perform accurate material, equipment and labor take-offs • Solicit sub & supplier pricing and estimate volume of work • Prepare timely estimates and meet bid deadlines • Review contract documents upon award • Communications with clients, project architects, subcontractors, etc. • Project billing and cost evaluation

Qualifications:

• Experience in estimating Commercial landscape work is preferred • Excellent communications, computer and math skills • Independent problem solver • A team player with integrity and a strong desire to win bids.

Ecological Restoration Field Technician/ Laborer

Cardno is seeking an Ecological Restoration Field Technician/ Laborer. Projects will involve field labor, technical work, and/or supervision of field crews. A typical work day consists of 8-10 hours of in-the-field physical labor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Implementing restoration project work at the ground level under the direction of a Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager • Native planting, seeding, erosion control installation, herbicide application, prescribed fire or any other activities necessary with field implementation of ecological restoration projects • Accurate documentation of daily field activities and organization of materials • Compliance with all company and client safety requirements • Ability to traverse wet and/or rugged terrain in diverse, sometimes inclement, weather conditions while carrying up to 50 lbs. • Experience in native and invasive species plant identification • Experience operating basic hand tools and smaller equipment such as backpack sprayers, augers, chainsaws, and/or brushcutters • Technicians will be required to obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s Certifications in Categories A, F, and J • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive a company vehicle and an acceptable motor vehicle record • Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship

• Experience operating large equipment such as ATVs/UTVs, tractors, chippers, and/or skid steers • Experience with herbicide handling, application, and application equipment • Knowledge and/or experience in ecological restoration techniques • Experience in map reading, GIS, and/or operating a GPS • Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or Red Card • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
