Well, as you may know the galaxy is basically split into TWO groups, the

New Republic and the Empire.

As it seems, the so called New Republic stands among the shatters of what’s left of the old Republic struggling to rebuild what was broken. Since Leia Organa Solo’s murder the Republic crumbled and fell apart, and now her daughter has started to pick up the pieces. Answering a call from Admiral Ackbar she came back and picked up where her mother left. On the other side of the board sits the huge and imposing machine of the Empire, still strong and still working, and now under a new ruler, if the rumors are true. They may not be as strong as they once were, but they’re getting there.

Actually, the way I see, none of them are as strong as they would like, so both secure representatives in the galatic senate and fight their war through politics. Where can a bounty hunter find more credits? From Lok Darren’s datalog: transcript from communication A#32

This story does not take place on the regular Star Wars continuity, instead it is a self-contained continuity created for the sake of creativity freedom.

This is not a comic to be sold it’s just a fan’s work. I’ve drank on the infinity well of information and ideas that the internet provides regarding Star Wars, from Wookipedia to other fans’ works. Thank you all. This story was born a long, long time ago at an rpg table.

Thanks to Daphne and her unending criticism, it made it all better. Thanks to Pete for being such a Star Wars nerd and his research and to the rest of the gang for all the readings and critics. And thanks to Anibal Folco for the typography mastermind.

All the characters here was created by me, except the original ones, like Jaina and Admiral Ackbar, and the protagonists. Stratus Darklighter was created by Pete Burton and me; Lok Darren was created by Rene Hendrick and me; Hazu was created by Marcelo Fazoli and me; and Dirtran was created by Cassio Jordão and me.

There is no emotion, there is peace. Emotions are a natural part of living. Jedi are not immune to feeling. They must be understood first. Unless a Jedi can confront his thoughts and feelings, he will never achieve peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

A Jedi must be circumspect and try to understand the world surrounding him. A Jedi has to be open minded.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

Passionate use of power leads to the dark side. A Jedi must always act with a calm hand and an even temper. There is no death, there is the Force.

Death is not a tragedy and is merely a part of life. Without death, life could not exist.

Dirtran was not a jedi yet, but he fought like one. His sacrifice won’t be in vain.

You were confused, your heart was in the right place, but your mind was not.

I thought you understood the force, but you had an eagerness to be powerfull that I failed to see. But I do see now.

Ah, look... not wanting to sound cold with Dirtran’s death and all but as I told you before my ship has been damaged beyond a simple repair, it was not easy getting away from that planet.

We will have to stop somewhere to fix things. Tarrj found a small planet around here, we don’t have much info about it but I don’t see any other choice. My hyperdrive is crashed so we cannot make the jump. We might keep flying but since we’re been tracked I believe as soon as we fix the hyperdrive and get back the better. Jaina?

I believe you’re right Lok, we don’t have much of a choice, do we?

I don’t see any.

Hazu? I’m sorry, I was distracted. Uh… yes I believe Lok is right.

Ask master Argon.

I would but he’s in some sort of a concentration trance since he returned from his battle against the Emperor.

Lok let’s go to this planet.

The lure of the darkside is strong, but it has never appealed to me. I seek the balance of the force, the progressive evolution through hard work and knowledge. I don’t really understand those who seek the dark path.

No. Now is the time for our move. But there’s another player in this game that I didn’t expect. He revealed himself to me by accident, the circunstances of your last battle against the rebels led him to that in order to save his friends. Master they have reached Sri IV as you forsee. Shall I send the scavangers?

I know the stranger master, I’ve seen him in Coruscant.

He saved them, and in doing so showed himself to me. I will deal with him.

You’ve seen nothing. You’ve run so fast that you don’t even remember his face. None of you could face him, I’m the only one who can.

As darkness tries to prevail, the strong will of some of us seeks to fight back, to bring balance to the force.

You will lead a full attack and meet them in battle. It’s time for Darklighter and for Organa Solo. The rest of them shall die, their fate means very little to me.

Even the young jedi? The one called Hazu?

Young light jedis are always weak, those who follow the light side need time to grow powerfull. You’ll have no problem crushing him.

And what about their master?

Calm your fear pitful creature, he will not interfere. Now go, your role is too important, play it well. And take the apprentices with you, it’s time to test them.

I didn’t kown you were such a wiz at this repair stuff.

I grew up on the Falcon and among all those Republican My dad was the ships. I love this stuff. best pilot I ever saw, and my uncle was a pilot, and Chewie and my mother, I mean it’s part of my life.

Yeah, I believe it is. I’m not very good at this, so I have all these droids to help me.

That was some really impressive piloting you did in Montagous. If it weren’t for you we would not make it out alive. Well, I have to earn my reputation, right?

What.. what’s wrong ? Since I understood my connection to the force I swore to bring peace to the galaxy. I shall not fail as the force is my ally.

I can’t help thinking how we failed Dirtran. He was younger than us, he was our responsibility, my responsability. He should’ve lived to become a great jedi, but instead he sacrificed himself to save me and Stratus.

Look, I’m not very good at this, but as far as I’m concerned you have to stay alive. You’re this galaxy’s best chance of sucess. I mean, who can be a leader if not you?

Probably lots of people that we don’t know.

Ok, but who can lead right now? Because we need to beat the Empire and bring peace back to this galaxy, right? And you live this fight since the day you were born, you’ve been trained by the best.

Damn, you’re the daughter of Han Solo and Leia Organa, come on!

The important kind. Don’t make the kid’s death a waste, he died because he belived you were worth diyng for

Maybe you’re right, but what kind of a leader am I to have people sacrificing themselves for me in such a horrible way?

I’m not asking that, I asked what’s happening to you. I cannot tell you what happened there. I don’t want to tell you.

I don’t know. I’m... really not sure. It’s a dangerous road you’re taking.

And what do you know of it?!?

I know what you know. That’s dangerous and that should not be followed.

The end… what end? I don’t need to wait to no end to be able to do what I want. When did someone helped me?

Where were all the good jedis when my brother fell, when my mother died?

‘Cause there is nothing good in the end, because you cannot help anyone.

A lot of people helped you, don’t be ungrateful. But that’s not the point. We don’t do what we do to get recognition. No, we do this because is the right thing to do, and because we have the power to do so. To ensure the balance.

And if I don’t want to? What if I want power to make things my way? To make things right as I know they should be? Why should I care?

Because you don’t have a choice. You’re part of this, you’re part of the force, you, me, everyone else. And you have the power to control it, to sense it and to alter it at your own will. The choices you make holding such a power has consequences. You cannot make them lightly, you cannot make them based only in what you want. You’re not alone.

Yes I am.

What? They’re…

Damn! We’re under attack!

Hazu!

Here!

They’ve found us. We have to get...

What is wrong? Jaina? Are you okay?

Stra...

Stratus has always been my friend, ever since we met.

Run Hazu, go help Jaina and Lok, I’ll handle this bastard.

Hello brother.

No. I’ll stay and help you.

But somewhere along the way, we took different directions, we went separate ways.

How come they have so many students?

I don’t know.

The darkside is powerfull brother, more than you can imagine!

Lok! Are you alright?

Where are you?

I’m okay.

We’re surrounded. Can you hold your position?

Yeah--

--nothing I can’t handle.

It was hard to see, hard to notice, but Dirtran made it all pretty clear to me.

I’m ok. Yes! Thanks to Tarrjurrd!

Lok! Are you all right?

Master? Can you hear me?

What about you? I can hear you Jaina.

We could use some help here,

What? We need you, what can be more important?

Trust me child I’m helping you, that’s all I can say. You can manage things there, concentrate. But this won’t be a happy day.

What? What’s that supposed to mean? Master? Master?

Hazu? We are alone here. Ry Argon...

I know.

We have to do this without him.

Do you need hel...

You cannot help anyone, not even yourself jedi.
