Children's education centre design an enjoyable space truly belongs to children Type: Studio work, Apr. 2013 [6 weeks] Tutor: Peng jianguo Role: Solo Location: Huizhou, Guangdong, China Size: 1756.81 ㎥

[academic]

This children's education centre stands on the outskirts of Huizhou city in Guangdong. The centre designed as 'stacked blocks' makes children feel pleased. They would feel like stepping into the kingdom which they've built with blocks in their dreams when walk into the centre. Each basic 'block' is 5.6 by 10.4 metre and 2.7 metre in clear height designed to create a comfortable space for children. There is a small kitchen, storage room and bathroom in every unit. Furniture is designed at the children’s height. There are 19 "blocks" in total, 13 covered in precast panels, and 6 in colored laminated glass. The 6 colours selected from the Chinese original elements aims to satisfy children's requirement of colour cognition. The inclined roofs creat a undulating skyline, and make children feel comfortable just as in home. 3

[vocabulary]

Children have their own vocabulary, which we propose to interpret and use in creating the new features of children's educational centre. For example, they really like to build houses with blocks. Perhaps, they would be interested in the kindergarten, which alluding to the concept of stacked toy blocks.

[academic] Architects' activity centre design Facing the sea, with spring flowers blossoming Type: Design competition, Sep. 2015 [6 weeks] Tutor: Xiong Huihua Role: Coop. Location: Shenzhen, Guangdong, China Size: 1157.42 ㎥ The project is a student design competition theme of "architectures' activity centre in the Internet plus era". According to the task requirements, we need to choose a site by ourself firstly. So we decided to locate in Jiao Chang Wei— the only shoreline village in Shenzhen, because of its heterogeneity . We rebuild a local abandoned school near the sea to achieve the design objective. In our vision for the future, we could provide construction technical support, reconstruction plan and new construction plan to local villagers face to face, we can hold some exhibitions and rapsessions to improve local villagers' appreciation of the beauty, and we can provide opened and cooperative platform for local emerging cultural and creative industry.

[academic] High-rise office design Individuality without losing graceful posture Type: Studio work, Dec. 2014 [8 weeks] Tutor: Xiong Huihua Role: Solo Location: Yiyang, Hunan, China Size: 29933.00 ㎥ For years, people used to passively accept the skyscrapers springing up in the city centre, whether excellent or mediocre. However this concept plan was tried with elegant and graceful posture stands in the city centre. In order to adapt to existing urban texture, parallelogram in plan, the curvilinear tower spirals upward, its bluish-green skin a veil like device that wraps the core in an overlapping layer of glass. There is a suitable relationship between curvilinear facades and local streets. Besides, with the long edge orient to the Xiufeng Park in order to maximize the effects of landscape infiltration. Concession in the urban interface of this project is an effective solution of contemporary urban problems, and high volume rate office space is trying to be an element of positive external environment of city.
