MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT C O M M I T T E E U P DAT E S T

his month of August has surely been a busy month for the Membership Development Committee of District 3780. I must say we are off to a good start! We have rolled out our Vision 20-20 Membership goals, started implementing the innovations we have made in the committee, prepared incentives to clubs who help us achieve vision 20-20, jump-started the multi-club Membership Development Seminar series, began preparations for the New Member Orientation Seminar and the Membership Fellowship Night and are continuously formulating our future plans for membership growth.

What is VISION 20-20?

With Vision 20-20, all clubs are enjoined to 1) Achieve at least 20% net increase in membership; 2) Maintain a 100% Retention Rate 3) Induct at least one new member below 40 years old. What are the INNOVATIONS being implemented by the MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE to continuously ATTRACT NEW MEMBERS and RETAIN EXISTING ONES?

A. For the newly inducted members, we give the following to the new members: 1. Certificate of Membership;

2. Welcome Membership CD which contains the following information about Rotary: • 20 Answers to Why join Rotary? • Why Join Rotary? • ABCs of Rotary • Getting Started with Rotary • Rotary Facts • Rotary Guiding Principles • Object of Rotary • Four Way Test • Global Rewards Program

3. A Unique New Rotarian Pin RY 2016-17, which only the baby Rotarians for this year will have.

4. New Member Orientation for all new Members in September to fully introduce to them to what Rotary is all about. 5. Membership Fellowship Night on October 28 with no assessment for new members which promises to be a fun-filled night of fellowship of new and existing Rotarians to be hosted by Rotary Club of Timog. 6. Rotary District 3780 Membership ID. Please take note that all of these benefits will only be for the Registered New Members only, meaning they already have their Rotary ID as they have been registered in www.rotary.org. It has now become a policy of the District that we will only induct a new member once he or she has been registered. We will be extremely grateful for your cooperation in this matter.

B. For the SPONSORS: To show our gratitude to Rotarians who shared Rotary to others by being the Sponsors of the new members, we will give them:

1. a Certificate of Appreciation, and 2. a unique Sponsor Pin.

Both the New Rotarian Pin and Sponsor Pin cannot be bought anywhere and is NOT for sale.

C. For all members of Rotary International District 3780: For this Rotary Year, we will be launching the Rotary District Membership ID for all the Rotarians who have already created their My Rotary Account. We highly encourage all of you who have not created your profiles yet, to do so at the soonest possible time and be amazed by the Rotary Global Rewards Program awaiting you.Just log-on to www.rotary.org.

INCENTIVES for CLUBS who help the Committee achieved VISION 20-20 Your membership committee has also prepared several incentives for clubs who help us achieve our target such as:

1. Monthly Recognition to Presidents who have met their goals and more. We have started awarding All Star Presidents who have registered new members for the month July with the “Rising Star of Excellence in Membership” Certificate. A total 28 of clubs were awarded through their All Star Presidents. 2. Once the clubs hit its 20% Net Increase in Membership, their club will be recognized as a Star Club.

3. Pizza Night at the end of every quarter for the clubs who have achieved the highest percentage growth in membership per Region per Quarter; 4. Two (2) free Room Accommodations during the District Conference for the Club with highest percentage growth in membership by March 2017; and finally 5. MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SERIES

W

e conducted the first Membership Development Seminar on August 9, 2016 in the Silver Hall of the Rotary Center where a total 23 clubs participated with more than 150 attendees. Immediate Past District Governor Obet Pagdanganan of the Rotary Club of Manila of District 3810 was our guest speaker who truly inspired the Rotarians of our district to be on board our Vision 20-20. LG Ric Doria was the designated night chairman, I, as Membership Chair, welcomed all the participants, DGE Chito Borromeo introduced our guest speaker while PDG Penny Policarpio facilitated the open forum. It was indeed a fruitful and fun night for all those present. LG Ric vDoria and Vice Chair for Membership PP Suzette Lee were the over-all organizers of this activity. The second Membership Development Seminar was held on August 17, 2016 in the Silver Hall also of the Rotary Center with PDG Oyan Villanueva of Rotary Club of Baguio Summer Capital of District 3790 as the guest speaker. Truly PDG Oyan motivated all the 200 participants present from 31 clubs in our district. LG Ric Doria was again the night chairman, Dcos Cecilia Rodriguez welcomed all the participants, PDG Penny Policarpio introduced Gov. Oyan and facilitated the open forum while I closed the program. Again it was a very successful seminar where everyone who attended learned a lot and were motivated to grow their clubs.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION & MEMBERSHIP FELLOWSHIP NIGHTS We will have a new member orientation this coming September to fully rotarize all the new members in the district. Also, please save the date on October 28, 2016 as we will have the Membership Fellowship Night, which promises to be a fun-filled evening to be hosted by the Rotary Club of Timog. No club will be left behind is Governor Dwight’s commitment to us. All of us are an important part of our district. Each and everyone of us serves as the oil who will continue to lubricate the Rotary Wheel to keep on turning and grinding forever. Each one of us has been and will always be the strength of our respective clubs. Membership is every Rotarian’s responsibility; hence I urge all of you my fellow Rotarians to help Governor Dwight meet his goals for this Rotary Year. We hope that you have taken to heart and mind our VISION 20-20 Membership Goals. As of August 26, 2016, I am also very happy to update our district that we have a total of 204 registered new members coming from 41 Rotary Clubs from our district. Alright!
