Ridley Hall Annual Fund - for US citizens

How to give to Ridley’s Annual Fund There are three ways to support the Annual Fund: • Make a one-off gift • Make a regular gift • Leave a legacy

Making a Gift

Why does Ridley need an Annual Fund? Since its foundation, Ridley Hall has flourished and enjoyed ongoing support from its alumni and friends. This remains essential, as today, Church of England funding does not cover the full costs of training, and Ridley has no historical endowment to supplement fees. Our annual fund has helped provide income that can be used immediately to meet the College’s current priorities. A large number of people giving small amounts (ideally with Gift Aid) can provide a substantial fund for the benefit of our whole community. Since 2011 the annual fund has raised over $365,000, helping fund the annual prayer weekend, building maintenance and refurbishment, the College’s IT infrastructure and much more.

RIDLEY HALL ANNUAL FUND 2013/14

From the Principal

The 2013/14 Annual Fund Campaign

The Revd Canon Andrew Norman I am greatly encouraged with the progress of the Annual Fund over the last two years, which has had a tremendous impact on the life of the college. I have just returned from sabbatical and have been delighted to see improvements made in my absence thanks to support from so many of you. My hope for Ridley is that we continue to give all our ordinands the very best start in ministry we can, and that they have the tools and skills necessary for that. But to do this, we need your ongoing support. Our students depend on resources over and above what the Church of England and our normal funding can provide. Personal giving has always played a crucial role in Ridley’s growth, and now we require it more than ever. Every gift is gratefully received with thanks. I warmly invite you to support our vision for Ridley and the Church. In Christ Andrew Norman Principal of Ridley Hall

Ridley currently has: • • • •

73 ordinands 5 independent students 43 youth work students 33 staff

Each year the Annual Fund has a real and immediate impact on our current community. Last year hundreds of alumni and friends gave over $125,000 to the fund, in amounts of all sizes.

“My hope for Ridley is that we continue to give all our ordinands the very best start in ministry we can” Andrew Norman, Principal

This year’s priorities include:

Ridley Fellowship supports the ongoing life of the community. It helps pay for the annual Prayer Weekend, the Common Room space, and we hope it might even provide a table tennis table this year! “Ridley has given us a deep breath from our previous careers in an environment where the gospel of Jesus and the love of others are primary. We give to invest in the people who are the future of the Church to spread the gospel to others.” Steve and Liz Burston, 2nd year ordinand family

Ridley Fabric focuses on our historic buildings and grounds. It support projects like replacing and improving the college’s lighting, upgrading our windows, and adding some part-time professional help to our volunteer gardeners’ work.

Ridley Future equips the college with modern technology, such as our new website (unveiled January 2013), wireless internet installation which will make wi-fi available across the college, and the extension and enhancement of audio-visual capabilities in seminar rooms and the chapel.

“As all the students are involved in the mission and ministry of Ridley, we felt that it was also important to support the college financially through a monthly direct debit as well as our daily prayers for Ridley Hall.”

“Ridley Hall has been a most stimulating place for the intellectual and spiritual development we earnestly craved, as we stepped out to obey the call to serve Christ. It is our privilege to support Ridley Hall as we are convinced others will be blessed here like we have been.”

Dan and Claire Leathers, 2nd year ordinand family

Nick and Shuba Ktorides, 2nd year ordinand family
