AMIDST THE SKY GAGAN BAGH Mysuru, rich in cultural diversity has a multitude of architectural marvels and traditions which were developed indigenously and continue to flourish till date. The brief poses a challenge of re-evolving through revolution, which in its true sense could be brought about by creating spatial harmonies. Tourism is the prime asset for the city’s economy, drawing time, energy and attention of the corporation towards it. This gives rise to a growing concern among the residents which could turn into a major issue if not addressed.
Simultaneously, with a vision to relocate the vib of the city to where it belongs, the program call of a new heart, re-evolving it through revolution harmony through the design.

SITE ADVANTAGES KUKKRAHALLI LAKE
The site lies in a straight line with the Chamundi Hills, the Jaganmohan palace, the Mysore Maharaja Palace and the Kukkarahalli Lake. Since the site is in vicinity to a major Residential zone, Student zone and Tourist zone, it will attract all age groups. Hosting a human interaction center at this site would solve the problem of isolation at night, improving the vibrancy of this locality.
S Site is adjacent to lake which attracts 180 different species of birds. Major transit hubs in vicinity

W Area abutting the site is deserted at night. Less activity area O Surrounded on three sides by residential zones and on one by tourist zone, it can cater to both the sections

ELEMENTS
The centralized lift core plays an essential part in reckoning the design as a universal solution.
The three main landings are then added symbolizing the various layers of the city, concurrently justifying sequential unfolding of spaces ranging from the site to the city.
The landings are interlinked with a continuous circumnavigatory path inducing connectivity. Every landing space is activity centric.
Connectivity is established inbetween the landing spaces giving the continual experiential walkway.
FRONT ELEVATION
The outer structure is comprised of a membrane that initiates in the base and extents till the top.
The final membrane shells, inspired from the Mysuru mallige is fused to the external structure, completing the iconic edifice catering to splendid activity intricate views.

CITY IN MOTION MOVEMENT SIGNIFIES LIFE
Moving through the city bares her soul to a careful observer. The pace, direction and purpose of travel reveals different versions of the city’s character, which contributes to form a complex dynamism that keeps evolving through time and space.

EVOLUTION OF SITE
Congestion due to interaction of pedestrian and vehicular movement
Lines become interactive pixelated pathways made of different materials depending on the nodes they connect, thus guiding the pedestrians.
Pixel scatter developed to create transition spaces around the existing pathway, creating a complex psychological geometry to channel the crowd
Additional pixel scatters made as seating spaces along and around the pathways thus forming the proposed space
PIXEL SQUARE A P I X E L AT E D C I T Y S Q U A R E PROJECT AIM The major issue is to readdress chaos in this location due to excess crowding and traffic. The city that holds serenity and calmness as her strongholds provides a less than enticing welcome to her guests. The aim is to retain all the existing functionalities and add more but impose an order of tranquility at the approach, thereby reducing chaos and improving the aesthetic appeal. As a point of initial contact to tourists, it is necessary to decongest the space.

The client brief was to design a naturopathy center with a yoga hall in a tight urban site. The fact that the center was meant for therapy and wellness but had to be designed in a busy, noisy, polluted node in the city was the challenge. The idea of the jali with green was twofold. The jali screen would enable us to cut down the harsh sound from the street traffic and the general humdrum of the city. It would also cut the harsh light that would infiltrate the interiors. The traditional Jali was re-imagined in a contemporary pattern to form a light ephemeral veil for the interiors.

The spaces open up to the strip of green screened by the jali.
The plan is designed in such a way that the building weaves around the existing tree not just physically but also phenomenally in a way that it becomes part of the experience.
A sense of life is infused into this jali buy juxtaposing it with a layer of curated medicinal plants. The plants protected by the jali not only help in therapeutic purposes but also help create a soft ambiance in the interior.

BRIEF
CONCEPT
The brief is to design a Parametric Pavilion and fabricate the same using Grasshopper in a given time of 48 hours.
The bottom profile of the truncated cone is equally divided and the alternative sequence of points were anchored. And an upward forces were given to the remaining points creating openings from the bottom of the truncated cone.

The form is achieved by adding various type of forces to a truncated cone using Kangaroo Solver
COLOUR CODING The mesh data obtained from the fox- walker component were colour coded uniquely for identification
UNWRAPPING The Unrolled Mesh Strips Were Packed Accordingly In Sheets For Lazer Cut Using Opennest Node
The outer edges of the mesh strips are added with flaps and the triangles numbered accordingly Material : 3mm Mount Board
The triangles are folded along the edges with the help of dash cuts made on the naked and interior edges of the mesh strips
The Flaps were folded and stapled together to form the whole Pavilion Form
FORM FINDINGS E X P LO R AT I O N S
Control Points of the spiral curve are moved alternatively and the offset of the resultant curve(_02) and the original curve(_01) is lofted to form a spiral surface. Forming a conceptual idea for a Watchtower.
