The slabs contain hollow, triangular compartments making the structure buoyant. The slabs have chain rooms that adjust to adverse conditions like rising sea levels floods or heavy rains. The slabs were oriented in a way that waterways could reach the core of the neighbourhood (which is the masjid) as well. All the residences are constrained to a 8m height to harness windflow and provide resilience. The two slabs are inter- connected using continuous teeth/stud joinery with reinforcement to keep them together. An equilateral triangle was chosen because of its easy propogation around vertices.



Carrying the concept of fractals to the nodes through dynamic multiplication across varying scales. The larger nodes inhabit large scale public functions like stadiums, docks, squares, markets, farms, sea trees and biodomes.

The smaller nodes within the neighbourhood form the public infrastructure including hospitals, govt. offices schools etc. The nodes formed by connecting the fabric of public infrastructure form roundabouts in the circulation tracks.


The circulation draws inspiration from Black Coral Reefs by creating interactive nodes at junctions while increasing pedestrian flow and the paths can be easily carved in whenever possible.

The BIRD HOUSE holds in its core the idea of privacy through hierarchy of spaces. It has been centred around providing expansive views and indoor outdoor living. The 1BHK maximizes on spatial efficiency and demarcation of spaces by using subtle changes in levels. It uses a singular curtain panel to add privacy with efficacy.

Respecting the need for sustaining the identity of Jakarta, the roof of this house is a play on the traditional Joglo Roof. JOGLO REDEFINED is a nod to the Javanese house typology, this iteration uses similar proportions and functions.The double heighted space is shaded by pulling the joglo from one edge.

The 3BHK was designed as the perfect family home. It promotes indoor-outdoor living. The OMEGA HOUSE is facilitated by openable shutters that bring fresh air and daylight with a double height space that makes the volumes open up. The form development includes modules of 3m, developed into a 9x9m and 12X9m structural system. To increase the efficiency, 3m of the floor plate has been cantilevered. The concept revolves around the idea of organic pixelation of the form around its extremes. This pixelation helps in achieving a simple yet interesting facade and a unique and contemporary office space. The final conceived form staggers to open up an atrium on the South East facade. To block the sun from entering this atrium and prevent high radiations, a core was placed in adjacent to it to cut direct light. The atrium provides natural light and a comfortable food & beverage/leisure area to the office workers.

The darker areas are cores for the building that were excluded in the study. The corridors were used as shading extensions for the facade.

The corridors have been designed on high radiation facades toh ensure shading. The blocks themselves have been clustered to ensure low radiation zones.

The project ensures a high roof top area that can easily offset the energy loads of the building (EPI=32 kwh/m2/yr) calculated using HVAC and energy load simulations on Design Builder software. In fact, surplus energy may be produced which can be sold off to the grid. Since this is a for-profit venture that enables a lucrative business model as well.

sP+a is a multidisciplinary studio in Mumbai, India. The studio’s approach is to look to context as a repository of latent resources connecting production process and network’s, appropriating techniques beyond their traditional use while allowing them to evolve and persist not just through preservation but more so through evolution.

The Epsilon Township is an ongoing housing project in Karnataka, India designed to bring affordable housing to the people. Since it was an extension of a pre-existing housing, the architectural language was meant to be remniscent of the past while looking to the future. During the internship at sP+a, I worked closely with the project lead and assisted on all facets of design and developing, while executing the BIM model on Revit for the site.
