So, how do we actually do this business?

At the very core of what we do is sharing. Sharing what we love, sharing what works for us, sharing information we’ve found: SHARING SHARING SHARING.

A common thing people say is “I don’t want to be salesy” and to that we emphatically say "Neither do we! Please don’t be salesy!" How do you do that? Avoid salesy terminology. Order TODAY! Don’t miss this!!! SALE SALE SALE!!!!!

Speak in a conversational way, like how you would talk to a friend. Be their friend and earn a place at their table.

Examples:

“I am trying (Peace&Calming) for the first time during Suzy’s bedtime routine. They say (it chills kids out) Will report back on how our evening goes. Send good vibes!” “I’d been looking to switch up my afternoon (coffee/energy drink) for a healthier alternative every once in a while and found (Ningxia Zyng) This stuff is tasty! Just added a drop of Lime Vitality to it and its super refreshing!” Our goal is to genuinely SHARE and to get these oils into as many homes as possible because we know what they can do.

Are you ready to help a new customer get started? You’ll need your referral link! You can find this in your Young Living account under: “My Account” > “Account Details” > “Share YL” We suggest keeping this saved on your phone in your NOTES app or somewhere convenient so that you can share it easily. Once someone clicks your link, they should not have to enter in your member number again, however, it’s a good practice to also include your member number just in case. Here is an example: “I can’t wait for you to experience these life changing products! I’ve enclosed my referral link here: (include link) My referral ID is XXXXXXXX which you should see be pre loaded when you check out”
Customers and Brand Partners can share referral links, but only Brand Partners are eligible to earn commission. Let’s make sure you’re classified as a Brand Partner + commission eligible. It’s YOU. Your vision + your effort + YOU as a person. That’s probably not the answer you were expecting, but it’s the truth. Something we hear often is people concerned that they must know ALL THE THINGS before they even start. This is not true! You do not need to be an expert.

When you told your friend she should eat at the awesome restaurant you dined at in the city, did you expect her to scoff at your suggestion because you aren’t a chef? Or that time you found the comfiest leggings on LTK, did you hesitate to share about it because you don’t have a degree in fashion design?

Um, no, because that’d be weird. Same. with. oils.

Your friends do not need you to be a scientist, chemist or expert in anything. Tell them why YOU use your Frankincense. Tell them what is does for YOU. That is what they want to hear.

Think about it like this… you have a unique perspective and experience to share, so share it!

Young Living has over 700 products. Isn't that amazing? We have an online wellness store that can meet so many needs. The cool thing about this business is we can share about what we love and leave the rest.

There are many ways to get out the word about all the goodness Young Living has to offer. Social media has made it easier than ever to connect with people and we highly suggest you utilize it!

You may be thinking, I’m not a social media expert. Neither are the majority of people who do this business. The good news is, you can learn how to use SM in your business, and getting started is simple. The first thing you need to know is that people will buy YOU. Your stories. Your testimonies. This does NOT mean your social media pages should be all YL all the time. Please don’t do that!

We believe in the 80/20 rule, or the 90/10 rule which means 80 90% of the time, you’re sharing about your life, things you love that are not related to your product. The other 10 20% of the time, you’re sharing about YL.

If you haven't been active on social media for a while, or you're just trying to be more intentional about it, you may want to think about creating categories for the things you share.

Grab a pen and a piece of paper and answer these about yourself:

1) Make a list of 5 things about your life that you want to share with the world on social media to create commonality with others.

2) List 3 things you're obsessed with.

3) List 3 things that make you feel good/fulfilled/restful.

4) List 3 things you love to learn about or find yourself always looking for on Google and/or Pinterest.

5) List 3 things you do to take care of others.

These should give you some ideas for what your social media could look like, for things that you're interested in and could share more on, and for more ways to connect with others.

Another way to grow your YL biz is by hosting in person gatherings. This my friend is one of our favorite ways to grow! There is NOTHING like being face to face, belly to belly with people, giving them the opportunity to experience these life changing products first hand.

How do you host an oily gathering? It’s up to you!

You can meet a friend for coffee or invite a small group to your home. You can get creative and host a “make & take” where you sit together and create a roller or bath bomb or some other fun oily item. It’s entirely up to you, but whatever you do keep it fun and upbeat!

Your gatherings do not need to be fancy or expensive. And remember you do not need to be an expert to host a gathering. Simply share what you love.

Every person on this planet can benefit from something Young Living makes. “But I don’t know anyone!” Oh no, friend, don’t accept those limiting beliefs!

Grab your notebook and pen right now. Jot down of all the people in your life who could benefit from something YL has. These are your future customers! Ask yourself, how can I serve them?

Do not be afraid to share about this business with people. This could be an answer to someone’s prayers. ^Read that again!

No problem! Let’s expand it. This is, after all, NETWORK marketing. Think about your interests, hobbies, or things you enjoy doing. Plug into those spaces and communities that center around them. Make genuine connections with people!

Enjoy yoga? Incorporate your oils into your poses, make a friend at practice, join a Facebook group for yoga lovers. Are you active in your church? Host Bible study and incorporate the Oils of Ancient Scripture into your evening.

When we make genuine connections with people who have similar interests and hobbies, it’s a natural next step to talk about our jobs and other things we love. Hello, share about YL!

“But I don’t have a big network”
As a Brand Partner we must comply with FDA guidance on how we speak about Young Living products and what type of claims we can make. We call this compliance. Being compliant means we are not trying to treat, heal, or diagnose people publicly on the internet. The easiest way to stay compliant is to share what you're doing to stay above the wellness line and how oils support you. Remember, we are not experts. We're enthusiasts. Compliance is online + offline HOWEVER if you’re sitting in your home with your friend there is a huge difference than speaking to a room full of strangers. What you share online will be the most seen. It is also able to be traced back to you. Your in person conversations are a totally different story. You have a new customer! YAY! Here is a little checklist you can use to make sure your friends know how to use their oils, and know where to get their questions answered.

Send a welcome e mail or text to them! Show them how to access our team Facebook pages

Once they are added, tag them in relevant posts

If it’s your jam, send a welcome gift to them. This can be as simple as a thank you card. We like to send over resources like a pocket reference from Life & Science Publishing.

If they haven’t already enrolled in Subscribe to Save, teach them the benefits of transfer buying: swapping toxic products for safer ones. Plug them into our team’s product text class (ask your upline for this.

Have them download the Life Steps App Stay in contact with them and let them know you are their oily bff! Introduce them to the potential of the YL biz by offering to plug them into this text class!

One of the best parts about network marketing is residual income. To create residual income, we need to do the work to create customers that understand a wellness focused lifestyle. When your customers understand this, they will keep coming back for more of what we have to offer. Enter the concept of TRANSFER BUYING, and the tool that makes it simple: Subscribe to Save!

Transfer buying is simply swapping out products we already use for natural ones from YL. Same budget, different store!

Subscribe to Save is just that! A subscription that saves money. Here’s an example of how to start that convo with your customer: “Did you know that things you are already buying like (insert examples), Young Living makes those filled with good, safe, natural ingredients? YES!! You can save money AND getting other products you want for FREE. We call this transfer buying, because you are simply spending money you already budget for in a different store, on things that are way better for you and your family.”

There are two things in this business that you MUST DO:

Strategic placement (SP) is how we create strong and supported organizations that grow fast. Let’s talk the technical stuff (the how) then the strategy stuff (the why).

SP is when you change your new Customer’s Sponsor, which in turn changes their location in your organization. To do this, you will need to call or chat with Member Services within 5 days of their signup. You will need your member #, your pin, your new customers name and member number, and their new sponsor’s name and member number.

Here is an example:

Hi, my name is XX, my member # is XX. Please change the Sponsor for (Customer Name) (Their Member #) to (New Sponsor Name) (New Sponsor Member #)

You technically have 30 days to make this change, but after day 5, you will not be able to call or chat to do it. You will need to email resolutions@youngliving.com

Now let’s talk about the strategy behind SP. SP is vital for your business because to move through the ranks, we need SIX small businesses under us, or six legs, or six rockstar people to lead teams. That's the comp plan!

When you begin to SP, you are building your tribe. Our best advice is to first reach out to your closest friends & fam to get them at the top of your legs. Some things to consider:

Are they self motivated?

Will they be outstanding leaders?

Do you inspire each other?

Can you dream big together?

Do you LOVE talking to them?

When deciding where to SP people, it’s important to know your downline. This will eventually feel like second nature. If you have your eyes set on your next rank, and you spend time in your virtual office, you will know which spots are strategic to pour into. As you raise up leaders, empower and reward them by SP people into their organizations. Make sure they feel empowered to take care of their new customers and encouraged to step into leadership!

Duplication should be at the heart of our business!

Think of duplication in two ways:

1. What do I want to model from leaders that have come before me? How can I learn from them?

2. What do I want to model for my team, that I would be proud to see them duplicate?

Duplication means that you no longer carry the sole responsibility of growing and building on your own, it means a team of builders doing this WITH you, not FOR you. Your builders will do what you do. Lead by example! If you’re teaching classes, teach your leaders to do the same. If you’re using your desk reference to find answers to questions, teach your leaders to do the same. If you’re enrolling, educating, and empowering your customers, your leaders will see that behavior and do the same for their customers.

Don’t assume people will understand this concept. Explain it to them! Tell them it’s important to model the behavior they want to see, and have THEIR people do the same, and so on.

The VO is going to be your bff! We will go over a few important things to take a look at, but we encourage you to get familiar with it on your own.

RANK QUALIFICATION: Want to see how close you are to the next rank? Want to know exactly what’s needed to get there? Log in to your YL account, then click “Dashboard” > “Rank Qualification.” You’ll be able to track your PV, CGV, OGV, PGV + all of your legs.

COMISSIONS: Click “My Account” on the left side of your VO then “My Commissions.” You’ll be able to see every paycheck you’ve ever received from Young Living.

REPORTS : Want a list of all your new members from last month? Want to see how many people qualified for the 300PV promo? Want to see just the people on ER? You can set advanced filters in the Reports tab any time you want.

LIVE CHAT: There is a small CHAT icon at the bottom right of the Contact Us page. When you click it, you can talk to a Young Living representative LIVE and get help with whatever issue you may be having.

We get paid for sharing what we love, which is such a blessing. We also get paid on what other business builders in our organization bring into YL, which is also a huge blessing! Here’s how it works:

EARN 50% WHEN YOU REFER A FRIEND When you share YL with a friend & they make a purchase, you'll receive 50% commissions on their entire first order with the fast start bonus! Another valuable resource for your business is the Wishlist feature within your YL account. You have the ability to create lists for yourself, or to share with customers and prospects. You can share these privately or on your social media pages. We recommend creating Wishlists for bundles you can share over and over again. For example, create a “Low tox Home” bundle which may include the value packed Thieves bundle along with your personal favorite products to share. Find this feature under “My Account” > “Wishlists”
