S.A. Lumière from Goldau, Switzerland, built a factory in Molsheim, France: La Bulbe NEOLUX S.à.r.l., with 120 employees and an annual production of 800,000 light bulbs.

January 5, 1925: First trademark protection in France.

OSRAM Germany and NEOLUX signed an agreement to enter into a strategic partnership. During the 1930s and 1940s, the company Interlux owned the majority of the company shares. At the same time, OSRAM gradually increased its shares in the company.

Avoiding safety risks through light

Most

worry about as long as their headlights function – all

their bulbs if they break or burn out. But what if it takes a while

broken bulb?

Until they do, they’ll be driving with just one headlight. This leads to a level of low light that drivers often underestimate, resulting in a significantly reduced field of vision and therefore to an increased risk to safety. But drivers can prevent this by being more proactive in replacing their bulbs before they go out.

Always in pairs

Over time, the amount of light produced by headlights diminishes. This means that drivers should regularly check that they still work – and replace them if necessary. It is recommended that they be checked once a year and exchanged every two to three years. But replacing just one bulb and not the other can lead to an imbalance in spotlight. The one replacement bulb will be brighter than the bulb that was not replaced, so it is important to replace the bulbs in pairs to ensure optimal light output and visibility. Not doing so could also be a potential safety risk.
