Olympus Society of Davao celebrates its 6th anniversary

Olympus Society of Davao’s humble beginnings can be traced back to June 2014 when it began as a text-based clan. On October 17, 2014 when the induction of the organization’s officers cemented Olympus Society of Davao into the forefront of the revitalization of hope, commitment, and passion for equal rights amongst the members of the society.

The organization envisioned a society where the members of the LG- BTQIA+ community are given equal rights, privileges, and respect. Olympus Society of Davao journeyed on its mission to commit into strengthening the capabilities of its members, raising the consciousness of the communities on human rights issues to concerns such as addressing stigma and discrimination towards the LGBTQIA+ community, and lastly by further establishing collaborations and partnerships with agencies, organizations, and institutions with values and principles in line with their advocacy.

Advocating for equality for the LGBTQIA+ community, the organization implements their community interventions in line with their core values which is to be non-discriminatory, interdependent, inalienable, equal, and universal. As they celebrate this 6th year milestone, Olympus Society of Davao aims to expand their reach through events, health centric programs, and extending their input in policy making and lobbying to fulfill their commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community.
