Cycle of water is a continuous movement

of water on,above, and below the surface of the Earth. After ever transitional phase, water changes into liquids, vapor, and ice at various places in the water cycle. Through ever transition there is a connection that ties all phases together. The parallel connection between the circulation of water and the dissemination of knowledge appears through light.

Cycle of knowledge is the analogy aligned with cycle of water. The diagram above shows the relationship between the broken arches representing the transitional

phases within the cycle. While one appears to feel condensed and rooted underground, the other circulates freely above in thin air.

The shaft in the design process is the key element to circulation. Both the elevators and multiple stairs penetrates from one transition to the next, and it also allows natural light to filter between the layers of glass. Natural skylight allows light to transfer through each floor, yet it darkens while it reaches towards the end where the underground level is located. Because the shaft is the primary circulation, it represents the transfer of water from liquid to gas to solid. It translates the ultimate cycle of water.

Glass is used in every part of the shaft to accentuate the translucencie of water and the openess of light.

The experiential view of the lounge on the sixth floor evokes the stage of evaporation parallel to the analysis level of the design. Floating furniture that elevates in the space giving the feeling of one’s disconnect fom the heavyness of gravity. The colors are represented as very soft almost dusty pallette. The lightness of the space gives the feeling of floating amongst air. Because evaporation is a phase with three key parts: heat, humidity, and air movement, there are three different use of space in the last three floors. Lounges seperate from studio work and leaves the formal exhibit entirely seperate. BUBBLE CHAIRS
