STRATEGIC INTERVENTION MG road is located in the central zone of bangalore . This is a central business district . The study area is separated by the ARMY parade ground and cariappa memorial park . the north of the parade ground is where the army defence lands are located . The commercial character of this area began to cater for the army officials and their families in the late 1800s and ever since it’s been growing and encroaching the residential zones.

BUILDING EDGES

ThisLarea marks a number of restaurants , pubs and cafes . It’s also known DS HA

CYCLE TRACK

for it’s night life . Some of the stadiums like chinnaswamy and kanteerva are here . It’s also popular for its parks , like the cubbon park . This area also hasLprivate and public schools which contribute to the high traffic . AND USE Based on the site analysis, the area is well connected in terms of availability of transportations and it’s network with the city at large. Thus, bringing in high vehicular traffic . And the pockets of residential zones were highly affected by the commercial commotions. The porposal was aimed at promoting the city’s walkability. To make the city safe for pedestrians . REVIVAL OF CARIAPPA CYCLE TRACK and completing the cycle track network and as well bridge the 2 residential pockets . BOULE

This urban entertainment building primarily has eateries - a breakfast joint , family dine in ,and a roof top and sky bar . The programs for this design was determined based on the lack of necessary infrastrucure in the surrounding 200m radius.

The ramp of the overhead bridge designed on the museum road- residency road junction drops of pedestrians and cyclists at the startCONCEPT of the site . And it’s located in between the 2 residential neighbourhoods that was aimed to be bridged . Hence by intervening in this site , the design goal was achieved .

ARCHITECT’S STUDIO-FIRM sections.`

Based on the principles of interior design this assignment was aimed to design the interiors of an architect’s studio firm . This task helped me understand and reinterpret how the “comfort” of a space can be defined by evoking human emotions relatable to the textures , colours ,lighting and layout of a space.

Elements and features. 1. maximum storage - wall hung shelves , cupboards that act as tables , work desks with drawers. 2. exposed brick wall -earthy feel . 3. arched windows . 4. ergonomic chairs - for maximum comfort . 5. minimalism with use of textures . (contrast between rough brick vs the smooth concrete tiles and oxide flooring) 6. pine wood vs oak wood. 7. balcony with informal seatings . section at aa’
