Collection of Scarves

CHECKIE SCARF This Checkie pattern scarf is one of my oldest scarves that had been kept for around 8 years. It was my first birthday scarf from my mom’s ex boss and it seems to be quite expensive at that time. Since I hardly get expensive presents before I started my highschool I was quite excited with this trendy gift, till now I still love this chunky checkie scarf very much.

COOKIE SCARF This cookie scarf was born before my birthday, on April 2008. It was made by my classmate from the Chinese painting class, she is an amazing knitter. And I still remember very well by what she ask me about the scarf. “What pattern do you prefer to be on the scarf? Smooth or chuncky?” “Emm, something simple? Maybe looking warm and special?” And here! On the week of my birthday I recieved a small paperbag with this cute little tiny bits cookie coloured scarf tied up delicately. I was totally amused and excited. This scarf is very precious for me because it’s my first birthday present that is handmade by someone. Which I realised that takes so much time after I started to learn knitting.

Do you know what’s this scarf reminds me of?

Niko and Netherlands! I don’t know why but somehow this scarf reminds me of them, maybe the light nylon texture and the blue and gray stripes? This scarf have simple elements of pattern and colours. It’s really delighful for summer and autumn. They don’t look cheap even they do, its only cost for $AUD7!

This is my very first own hand-made scarf, it took me ages because of my clumsy knitting skills. It’s a very small scarf knitted with mohair yarn, which is quite expensive. And this is the reason I knitted big patterns for saving the amount of yarn. After I knitted my scarf, I made another one for my mom’s birthday, in a cosy olive coloured one. She love that scarf so much and wear it during parties. This scarf is very fergile which I need to give extra care.

I named it as a “Furniture scarf”, it just looks like a carpet or curtain to me. I love the cottonly smooth silky texture, it’s very comfortable to wear in hot and cold weather. Just realised that this is my only pink scarf and I really love the combination of brown and pink pattern, this scarf matches most of my clothes. I got this from a nice boutique shop last year. I use this scarf often quite often in Hong Kong.

The most sexy scarf in my closet. This popular lepoard pattern had been a trend in the year of 2008. But I seldom wears it though, honestly don’t really think this scarf fits me, it’s way too wild for me however I love the colouration of this scarf I end up keeping it as one of my collections but I hardly wear it anymore. Apart from hiding in my closet, it likes to lay in the bathtub for a sunbathe, perhaps you can call it “show off”.

Very elegant scarf here, with rosy patterns. My granny loves this flowery scarf and she ask me to get her one.

STRIPE SCARF Don’t get fool by his ordinary look! This square, checky, stripe scarf do have a cool function, It works as a cape of a tiny blanket. It looks holey but actually it’s the warmest scarf in my collection. It travels with me causally which I really like about this scarf. It had this springy texture and it shrinks because of the stretching material that they used in this scarf, I suppose that they are cotton but they are much finer . This scarf need to get wash quite often, it somehow absobs the scents and it stinks in wet weathers. When I took this scarf with me back to Hong Kong, my mom loves to borrow it for her casual wear, she was totally obsessed with this funky scarf.

A soveneir from my best friend Sharon, she got me this cute little trianglar scarf from HuangZhou, Shanghai. This scarf is made in 3 parts with different kind of brown toned flowery pattern. Seems like everyone knows I love scarfs and they start to help me looking up for some special ones. The only problem of this scarf is that I don’t seem to have a good match of clothes that can really fit it, blame my clothes. Which means I need to buy some clothes for this scarf! I can’t wait to wear it and show off my best friend’s present!

STARRY STARRY SCARF Starry Starry Scarf reminds me of the good old times, and my good old fashion taste. I love “bling blings which you can see on the silver stripes across every star. I love star patterns when they make me look smart and so on. But after I graduate highschool to uni, I never wear this scarf again. This scarf is slightly off to my style now but it still gives me a good laugh when I look at it, it just reminds me of my oldies and my childish side with everything in this starry patterm.

FLOWERY SCARF This scarf, it took me AGES to find it! It’s one of my most precious collections, they are hard to find especially with the pattern that won’t go too busy, there’s some are looking quite old when too much flowery pattern was going on in a scarf. This scarf decorates both of my plain and pattern clothings, they are really delicate and nice, and I need to pay special attention and make sure they won’t get damaged. Although they are looking gorgeous, it’s still more on a “decor” side than in a purpose of keeping warm... Look at the tiny holes! I won’t wear them in cold winter days!

This is my VERY FIRST own scarf in my life! I got this scarf when I was 8, my mom gave me her scarf to wear in school and I ended up getting a detention from it because of the colour was againsting the school rule. My mom ended up got me another cozy scarf from a department store. I was feeling very precious about this scarf, hoping for the cold weather and took it with me to school everyday. This scarf was made in a very special material, it’s not wool but something really soft and comfy, and it is stretchable. It’s a bit too short for me right now, but this design pattern and colour which is in gray with two lines of white dots on both ends of the scarf is always long lasting, always in trend, sometimes I just feel like wearing it. My most memoriable scarf.

I bought this scarf from egypt, very Arabic looking and elegant, sometimes I wear them in semi-formal functioning. It defers from my other scarfs, it gives a mysterious looking and it looks more like a cape which I usually wrap it around me instead of wearing it like a scarf. The sales said this scarf is made by the Egyptian cotton which known to be famous, even though I believe they are still made in China. What make this scarf that exciting is I made some nasty bargan with this seller and he end up surrendered with an extremely low price. It’s very cheap but very elegant heh.
