Crosslights is a brand of exclusive handwoven pieces, created using a manual loom & inspired by traditional colours and patterns. Each piece is an original design carefully handcrafted by the portuguese designer Rita Martins Pereira. Made with the finest eco-friendly materials, these unique scarves, shawls and other textile accessories are the perfect accessory to keep warm and to complement any outfit. Started in 2015, the International Year of Light, which also inspired the name Crosslights, the brand wishes to inspire anyone that is wearing it. The weaving process The process begins with choosing the colours and the texture of the threads and combining them in a way that it is inspiring and stylist. Then the pattern of the warp (the vertical threads) is created and the quantity of threads for each color and their order is decided. Each thread is set on the loom, maximum of 120 Threads, in a total of 58 cm width. This takes about 1 hour. The weft (the horizontal threads) come next and deciding its colours and the order it will have. Finally the weaving process begins and the piece starts to come to life. The whole process takes 3 hours to complete it. When it is done, the weaving is set free from the loom and all the small details, like fringe, labels, etc, are finished. www.lisboncrosslights.com

“The pattern and colours of my piece reflect the way I live, by contemplating and absorbing the energy of the moment. The balance between nature and city. The soft lines and calmness of nature mixed with the fuzz of the city and the geometric lines of streets and buildings. The traditional colours and patterns are my biggest inspiration but my pieces also reflect my passions, either is art, design, streetwear, fashion, interior design or landscapes... you name it! “ You can check how it all started in this Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdfPiwMEKXU www.lisboncrosslights.com https://www.instagram.com/lisboncrosslights/
