HELLO! I am Ritik Khare, a fifth-year student of the Faculty of Architecture, Lucknow. I consider architecture and design as a combination of a human-centric and problem-solving form of art. I am a self-motivated learner who is interested in learning interaction and visual aspects of design and its implications. It would be an immense pleasure for me to gain more knowledge and experience in the field of design and build a career in the same.

Comparative analysis of school models

Role of Open spaces in educational Environment - Implementation of a Community school model in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh

Small Cities - Big Contribution WHAT?

The research aims to identify probable solutions for the social, educational, and economic upliftment of art and craft communities in craft rich cities in India.

WHY?

These small cities or towns have been producers of these arts and crafts for more than a century and yet we see that these workers suffer due to financial crisis, economic development, and lack of education for the next generations. One such city is Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh which is a huge producer of Carpets or ‘Kaleen’ in India and across the globe as well.

Abstraction of Tetris

The design of primary school for children is a very intricate process that involves not only the design of classroom and facilities but also the design must align with the pedagogy and the children aspiration.

WHAT?

The brief is to design a wall installation for a primary school for children between the age of 6-10.

HOW?

The design is abstracted from the jaali walls The installation redesigns the wall to create puncture on the wall and Tetris like colorful modules of foam to fill these punctures. Further create a very dynamic facade which would change on every intervention the children would make hence increase the sense of association between the school and its children

COVISTER COVID Isolation Unit

Encompassing the virus

WHAT? The Design aims at a COVID ISOLATION UNIT that can be deployed and transported easily and hence the choice of materials and construction technology and cost is kept in mind while designing the unit. The challenge was to design innovative isolation cells in Quarantine Facilities to help subdue the effects of the outbreak on existing infrastructure.

Key Features of design

One of the main reasons for the spread of COVID-19 is the lack of proper infrastructure. Hence, spaces and facilities are needed where isolation of the exposed victim can be carried out since contact tracing is the key to breaking the chain. Hence we must come up with temporary solutions to ensure that suspected victims are isolated in a space that contains cross-contamination and also takes into consideration the mental health effects of solitary confinement.

Understanding Vernacular Photography Analysis

City Brief POL HOUSES A house type built in the times of communal tension and social unrest in the region hundreds of years ago, The pol (derived from the Sanskrit word pratoli meaning gate) are a conglomeration of the houses that are are usually inhabited by people and families linked together with caste, culture or profession. The houses are built for more than 300 years in the city of Ahmedabad. The houses are 2 to 4 stories in height with a small courtyard. Pol houses typically sit with a minimal frontage on the neighborhood street with an Otla which acts as an interactive medium between the streets and the houses. A continuous elevation of houses are witnessed on both sides of the street as the walls of the houses tend to be shared which creates a shaded and cool environment on the streets Vernacular architecture can be mapped under the following points 1. Sense of a place 2. Climate and topography 3. Prototypes (Elements, scale, proportions, etc) 4. Variations in prototypes 5. Multiplicity of interwoven theme 6. Relation between man and environment
