URBAN OASIS PARADISE BY DESIGN LOCATION : Ocean Drive, Miami Beach GUIDE: Adriaan Gueze, WEST 8 individual work GSD_Boutique Cities 15 Site: 2 acres The American Boutique city of Miami is a melting pot, undergoing a dynamic evolution that makes the city a laboratory for testing ideas. With booming real estate the identity of Ocean Drive is blurring. Paradise with design aims to explore the extension of the public realm by creating an elevated urban oasis. “Everyone deserves the infinite view of the Atlantic, the emotion of having a vantage point. The project is an elevated platform integrated with restaurants and wrapped with pedestrian circulation enhanced by dense planting. An endeavour to redefine a pause point that celebrates the human experience integrated with a dynamic play of light, colour and *Exhibited and Published in Miami Boutique City 2015 to Miami Beach Commision, Mayor, Knight Foundation and New World Symphony.

This project explores how architecture and space making can be used as a tool to re-visit amore walkable neighbourhood. A hybridization between parametrically design row house models with China’s courtyard houses; bridging China’s ancient traditional past with its modern technology. The design emphasizes mutability as a type and its enhances flexibility and flow in the urban fabric.

Aeolian Urbanism LOCATION : Jamaica Bay, New York GUIDE : Leire Asensio in team of 2 GSD core studio_spring 14 Due to rapid urbanization and global warming; the rate of change of temperature between the tropics and the poles is drastically increasing thereby projecting an increase in air turbulence globally in the next 20 year by 40 percent. As designers, we have agency over controlling air turbulence locally. The heat index of the city of new York depicts how footprint and density of urbanization causes turbulence locally. The project aims at mitigating the same by creating a series of lattices both built and infrastructural stacked vertically interlaced barriers that enhance the dune ecosystem. Key Role : Research, Scripting and simulation for wind studies, 3D Visualization, analysis graphics.

MMR PROVING GROUNDS LOCATION : MMR Cape Cod, MA USA GUIDE : Rosetta Elkin in team of 3 GSD core studio_fall 13 A quest to translate contaminated military land into a remediated upland that induces community culture. Tourism in CapeCod is in decline as the beaches erode steadily, (3ft per year) while climate change and sea level rise ushers in a new era on the Cape. In order for tourism to continue as the main source of livelihood for residents, it becomes necessary again for industry to flip: as whaling changed to tourism in the 19th century, beach tourism will switch to inland tourism in the 21st. Rather than focusing on the redundancy of the engineering activity and U pick industry, the project focuses on creating interplay. A shift from engineering process of remediation and berry industry to integrating the same with experiential landscape. Key Role : Research, Ground exaggeration study and presentation. Plant Architecture, preparing tactile maps and atmospheric rendered views.

MARINE RESEARCH AND INTERPRETATION CENTRE LOCATION : Puthuvypeen,Kerala India GUIDE : Rajeev Agarwal individual work architectural thesis 10 A search for an architectural vocabulary that enhances the dialogue between man and nature by emulating nature. To address the depleting mangroves ecology on site the design intervention emulates the physical structure of the mangroves, with stilted built mass placed on the trough between inland dunes. The building enhances the experience of the rains by celebrating the passage of water on cascading roof and tapering spouts. The mangroves are made accessible by an system of board-walks extending towards the water front.

PLAZA ON BRICKELL CONDOMINIUM LOCATION : Brickell, Miami Studio Arth principal professional work_2018 The Plaza on Brickell is a 3.1 acre property located in the heart of the financial district in Miami and has 30,000 sq.ft of commercial/retail on the street level. It is the new meeting point for work and play, breathing more life and vitality to the financial district. Due to hurricane Irma in September 2017, the Plaza on Brickell complex landscape faced heavy damages, especially the pool deck garden. The revitalization of this urban garden was done with a primary focus of adding native species with a variety of flowering and fruting plants that would attract humming birds and buterflies.
Key Role Principal Landscape Architect. Design and execution to revitalize and replant the entire complex.
