WEEK FIVE:

THE GOLDEN COW GO ANSWER

God created me to worship Him

God has created us to worship Him! In Exodus 32, we read about the disobedience of the Israelites when they created a false god (an idol) to worship. Instead of only worshipping the one true God, they instead formed a cow statue out of melted gold. As crazy as that may sound, sometimes we make idols out of things in our lives. Although it’s probably not a large golden statue, anything that becomes number one in our life is an idol. If there is something we value more than our relationship with Jesus that has become an idol in our life. Always remember: Put God First!

THINK ABOUT IT: Is there anything in your life that has taken your attention away from spending time with Jesus? If so, what changes do you need to make in order to put God first?

UNSCRAMBLE THE WORDS BELOW TO REVEAL THE THREE TYPES OF BIRDS WE LEARNED ABOUT THIS WEEK:

ERASVN RWRSPAOS UQLIA

1 KINGS 17:2-6 TELLS US ABOUT RAVENS SHOWING UP TO HELP THE PROPHET ELIJAH. WHAT DID THE BIRDS DO? WHY DOES THE BIBLE TALK ABOUT SPARROWS IN MATTHEW 10:31? AFTER LEAVING EGYPT, THE ISRAELITES GRUMBLED ABOUT FOOD. WHAT DID GOD RAIN DOWN FROM THE SKY FOR THEM IN NUMBERS 11 AND 16?

PRAY THIS PRAYER TOGETHER WITH YOUR FAMILY: “GOD, HELP US TO ALWAYS DEPEND ON YOU. REMIND US THAT YOU PROVIDE FOR EVERY SINGLE NEED AND ALWAYS CARE ABOUT WHAT WE GO THROUGH. THANK YOU FOR LOVING US EACH AND EVERY DAY. AMEN.”

WEEK SEVEN:

THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB GO ANSWER God created a path to forgiveness

In Old Testament days, animals were sacrificed as an offering to God. Every day, lambs were sacrificed in the temple for the sins of the people (Exodus 29:38-42). When God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to this earth, Jesus became the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He paid the payment of death for our wrongs. Through Jesus, we can have a relationship with God and eternal life in Heaven! Jesus is the perfect sacrifice which is why He is called the LAMB OF GOD in John 1:29.
