Don’t forget your winter gear as we join Cyndy Squirrel on her wild excursions across Snowflake Village, learning life lessons from the crazy weather found in the Bible.
LIFE LESSONS FROM CRAZY WEATHER IN THE BIBLE Have you ever experienced wild weather? Perhaps it was a crazy thunderstorm or a wicked blizzard. Weather is so fascinating! It can be so unpredictable and technical. Meteorologists (that’s what a “weather person” is called!) go to school in order to learn how to study weather patterns. They learn about jet streams, sea breezes, vapor pressures, wind chill factors, and so much more! In the Bible, we find incredible stories about actual events that happened due to the weather. You have probably heard about Noah and the Giant Flood, but have you heard about the time when fire fell from heaven? How about when God caused the sun to not move so that the day lasted longer during an epic battle? “Snowflake Village: Life Lessons from Crazy Weather in the Bible” is a close look at seven different stories of incredible weather and God’s provision. Get ready to learn more about the “O” in PILOT as we discover how “God’s ways are higher than mine because He can speak to me at any time.”
GO VERSE THIS SCRIPTURE IS OUR THEME VERSE AS WE VENTURE THROUGH SNOWFLAKE VILLAGE! “Praise the Lord from the earth, you creatures of the ocean depths, fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey Him.” Psalm 148:7-8, NLT
WEEK ONE:
BREAD FROM HEAVEN (MANNA FOR DINNER) GO ANSWER
“Provision comes from God”
SCR IPTU RE
Exodus 16:1-35
Family Discussion Questions Provision is a pretty big word. What does it mean?
How does God provide for us each day?
What can we learn from God providing for the Israelites?
ARE YOU LISTENING? Our series about the crazy weather in the Bible is all about learning life lessons from it. Being a PILOT means that we are OPEN to God because we know that His ways are higher than ours. Each day, your challenge is to take some time in a quiet space to listen for God’s voice. God can speak to us in many different ways, but we need to be listening in order to hear from Him. Let’s remember to take time to ask God to speak to us.
PRAYER TIME “Dear God, I know that You can speak to me at any time. I ask that You show me how great You are and how amazing Your plan is for my life. I love You and I want to follow after You each and every day. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to help me live each day like Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
LOOK OUT BELOW What do you think it looked like when the manna fell from the skies each day? Draw a picture of what you think it looked like when the Israelites were gathering up their heaven-sent food.

SWEET DREAMS! Dreams are so crazy! We can dream we are falling and actually wake ourselves up because of it! Pharaoh’s dream was a warning, but he needed help to figure out what it meant. Thankfully, Joseph was there to help him out and interpret his dream. Let’s take some time to think about dreams that we’ve had…
Have you ever had a scary dream? What made it scary?
How about a funny or bizarre dream? Have you ever woken yourself up laughing?!
Have you ever had a dream that felt so real that you had to double-check to make sure it wasn’t?!

18:41-44
Family Discussion Questions In 1 Kings, we read the incredible, true story of Elijah and the Prophets of Baal. The challenge was to see whose god was the real God and could cause fire to fall from heaven to burn the sacrifice. Elijah and the Prophets each made an altar with a sacrifice on top of it. “Then call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by setting fire to the wood is the true God!” (1 Kings 18:24) • •
What happened when the Prophets of Baal prayed to their god? What happened when Elijah prayed to God?

God speaks to Elijah
God told Elijah to stand out on the mountain and wait for Him. Three major weather events happened as Elijah waited to hear from God… • •
What was the first thing that happened? What was the second thing that happened?
•
What was the third thing that happened?
•
Elijah learned that God was not in any of these crazy weather events that happened. Instead, God was found in the sound of a gentle whisper. What does this teach us about God?
LOOK IT UP! There was another time in the Bible when God provided direction. This time it was for a guy named Noah. Noah needed to know what to do because a Great Flood was on its way. Thankfully, Noah listened to God and followed His directions. If not, Noah and his family would not have survived the 40 days and nights of rain! You can read all about it in Genesis 6:9-9:17.
