THE MIRACLES OF JESUS Sometimes people use the word miracle to mean some strange things. A sports fan may call it a miracle when his team pulls off a last chance play and wins the football game. Some people call it a miracle when they are able to race through traffic, get to the movie theater, get their ticket and popcorn and find a seat before the movie starts. And some people call it a miracle when your uncle, who never has money for anything, actually volunteers to pay for dinner! None of these things are truly miracles, of course. Miracles are acts of God. They are things we cannot explain. Miracles are things beyond our control or the control of anyone else we know - anyone that is, except God. The Bible is filled with many amazing miracles. In the Old Testament, these miracles came from Heaven, but in the first four books of the New Testament, they came straight from Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God, and He did amazing miracles while He was on earth. Jesus never did miracles just to impress people. He’s not a magician, pulling rabbits out of a hat or making people levitate off the ground. Jesus always had a plan and a purpose behind every miracle. We can learn a lot of lessons from the miracles Jesus performed. Get ready to discover many of the miraculous miracles of Jesus as well as the stories behind them. We’re learning more about the “O” in PILOT as we discover how to stay OPEN TO GOD because He is a mighty miracle-working God!
GO VERSE THIS SCRIPTURE IS OUR THEME VERSE AS WE VENTURE THROUGH THUNDERSNOW FOREST! “Jesus replied, ‘What is impossible with man is possible with God.’” Luke 18:27, NIV

THE GREAT CATCH GO ANSWER
“The miracles of Jesus show that He cares”
T H E GR EAT CAT CH
This week’s miracle of Jesus is found in Luke 5:1-11
Family Discussion Questions Use these questions to spark family discussion time! •
What is a miracle?
•
Have you ever experienced a miracle in your life? What happened?
•
Why do you think Jesus provided the great catch for Simon Peter, James, and John?
WHY DID JESUS PERFORM MIRACLES? The Bible tells us that Jesus’ miracles served the purpose of demonstrating Jesus’ power and divine authority. Jesus showed that He had God’s power by healing physical illness, raising people from the dead, feeding over 5000, and even forgiving people’s sins!
CAN YOU PICTURE IT? What do you think it would have been like to be in the boat when the great catch happened? How would you have reacted? Draw a picture of what you think it looked like in the space below.

HEALING OF A LEPROUS MAN GO ANSWER T H E LE P R OU S M AN
“The miracles of Jesus are for everyone” This week’s miracle of Jesus is found in Matthew 8:1-4; Mark 1:40-45; and Luke 5:12-14.
The story of the healing of the leprous man shows us that Jesus cares for each and every one of us. In Bible days, leprosy was a common disease that caused great harm to a person’s skin. They would have to leave their home. No one would touch them, and they would have to call out “UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN!” so that people were aware of the danger when they were around. But Jesus had the power to heal and when he touched the leprous man he was immediately healed!
GOOD NEWS SPREADS! After Jesus healed the man with leprosy, news about Jesus quickly spread throughout the entire land. Gather together as a family and play a few rounds of “Telephone.” Standing in a line, the first person will whisper a phrase or short story-related message to the person next to them who will then pass it on to the next person. The last person in line will say the message out loud. Is it the same phrase/message that it was in the beginning?
CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERENCES? See if you can discover all 10 differences between the two Cyndy Squirrels!
