Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that Bayonne is hosting its fourth food truck festival on Saturday, May 6, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Davis said, “We look forward to welcoming the food truck festival back to Avenue E.This great event will offer people a day to try cuisine from the best food trucks in the region. We look forward to seeing both Bayonne residents and visitors from neighboring communities as we bring the food trucks back to our city. The festival will welcome people to our community to celebrate the spring and to see how great Bayonne is.”

Mayor Davis continued, “The City of Bayonne encourages people to arrive by Light Rail at the 22nd Street Station. It will be an easy way to come to the festival and see what Bayonne has to offer.”

The festival will take place on Avenue E between 22nd and 24th Streets. In order to accommodate the festival, portions of Avenue E will be closed to traffic. A variety of vendors will be selling food and other items out of food trucks, tents, and tables. The trucks and tents will offer a great assortment of foods from a variety of cultures.

Participating vendors will include: House of Cupcakes, Horman’s Best Pickles, NYC

Mack Truck, Twisted Steaks, Athens Delite, Inc., The Little Sicilian,

T-Bark Foods, The Steak Truck LLC, Just Delicious Kettlecorn, Cubano X-Press, Angry Archies, Tradewinds II, El Cilaugo Taqueria #2, Carnival Concessions, Jersey Johnny’s, Cold Stone Creamery, Cat-Like Reflexes, A Taste of Eme LLC, Carinderia LLC, Shotz of Love Water-Ice Smoothies, and Chava’s Empanadas.

In addition to the food trucks and tents, the event will include childrens’ rides, sand art, live music, and a beer and wine garden for the adults. The musical entertainment will feature concerts from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and 4:00-7:00 p.m. A stage for performances will be set up at 23rd Street and Avenue E. Musical entertainment will be provided by two groups: Who Brought the Dog and White Wing. Who Brought the Dog offers a diverse selection of rock music. Staging energetic performances, the band plays the top rock hits of the present and the past. This New Jersey-based group covers the music of dozens of popular musicians from The Doors to AC/ DC and

Bruce Springsteen.

White Wing, a band based in Wall Township, offers a classic rock sound. The group writes original songs and records them at Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch. n 2022, White Wing produced a single, For Your Life, which is dedicated to the innocent lives lost in the war in Ukraine.

Admission to the festival is free. Members of the public will purchase their own choices of food, beverages, and children’s rides. For safety reasons, several “Road Closed,” “Local Traffic Only,” and “No Parking” signs will be posted in and around the affected portions of the Avenue E corridor. Variable message signs will also be used to announce information to motorists. Police and Fire Department vehicles will assist in creating safety perimeters for the event. Set-up for the event will begin at 7:00 a.m. Parking lots will be available in several locations: Lots 6 and 7 –23rd Street and Church Lane; Lots 8 and 9 –East 26th Street between Broadway and Avenue E; and the Barnabas Medical Center parking deck at 24th Street and DelMonte Drive. Public metered parking will also be available along the Broadway corridor. Pay station and parking meter enforcement will be in effect.

Sunday, May 7, is the rain date for the food truck festival. If the rain date were needed, the same hours and other details announced for Saturday, May 6, would be in effect on Sunday, May 7. In the event of predictions of severely inclement weather for Saturday, May 6, a decision about using the rain date for the festival would be made by the day before.

Casa Colombo and Crystal Letters present Elemental Emotions. Join multi-disciplinary artist and poet, Crystal Davis at Casa Colombo, 380 Monmouth Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07302, on May 13, 2023 for the opening reception of her first solo Art and Poetry

Elemental Emotions is about Crystal Davis’ debut Poetry and Art collection about a fantastical journey exploring spirituality. Step into the world of Elemental Emotions where Poetry and Artwork tell stories of the Seven Elements as we travel through Thought, Light, Ether, Air, Water, Fire, and Earth. Along the way we’ll meet Deities that will carry us gently through the elements. This exhibition displays a collection of some of her favorite paintings, illustrations, and poems from the book. The exhibition will be on display from Saturday, May 13th to Saturday, June 17th, 2023 at Casa Colombo. This event is free and open to the public. All art will be available for sale.

The festival, featuring displays and sales by artists, crafters, food vendors, and local businesses, will occur on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Seventh Street.

There will also be two stages of live musical performances located on Washington Street between Newark Street and Observer Highway and on Washington Street between Sixth Street and Seventh Street.

This year Joe McGinty and The Loser’s Lounge will close out the festival on the Observer Highway stage playing favorite songs and deep cuts from the incredible catalog of The Kinks, and the songwriting
