An Enhanced Tournament Experience Centrally located in the heart of San Diego, minutes from Downtown. Riverwalk’s experience hosting hundreds of golf tournaments and outings for groups ranging from Fortune 500 companies and trade associations to non-profits makes us uniquely qualified to make your next golf event an unqualified success. Riverwalk Golf Club encompasses two types of golf courses, one 18 Hole premier course and one 9 Hole player development and family course to create an unique experience every time you play. Distinctive in character but consistent in quality, every hole was meticulously designed by Ted Robinson, Sr. and Jr. in the old style, leaving the terrain completely natural. This San Diego Golf Course boasts mature stands of palm, oak and eucalyptus trees frame undulating fairways and manicured greens, with numerous wetland areas, nearly 100 bunkers and an array of picturesque water features – including four lakes and the San Diego River – creating both strategic diversity and a visually stunning backdrop for golf. While challenging for low handicappers, the course offers multiple tees on each hole, ensuring an enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities. The Scorecard Riverwalk Premier 18 Hole

Sunset 9 Riverwalk has two course! The Premier Riverwalk 18 hole Course and The Sunset 9 Course! The Sunset 9 offers the perfect course for player development, footgolf, fling golf, and much more!

Golf Cart Rental Riverwalk will Provide up to 100 Golf Carts for Tournaments to use. If tournament need more than 100 Golf Cart Riverwalk will Rent them in for the group at $75.00 Per Cart.


Tournament Options Starting Options Shotgun Start: A Shotgun start is a golf tournament format in which all groups of players tee off simultaneously from different holes. Two groups will start at each hole. With this option all groups will start and finish at approximately the same time. Straight Tee Tournament: This option good for competitive events.Tournament will have the option of initial start time and tee time interval time.

Tournament Formats Scramble Format: In this format every person in the group will hit from the appropriate tee marker. The group will determine the best of the four shots.and everyone else will pick up their ball and place it a club length away from the "best ball." The group will continue this process until the ball is completely in the cup. The winning team is the team with the lowest 18 hole score. This format promotes faster pace of play and makes the event playable and easier for a wider variety of golf skill sets. This is the most popular No-Profit golf tournament format. Best Ball: This format may be played as 2,3,4 person teams. Golfers will play their own ball through the entirety of the hole and at the conclusion of the hole they write down the lowest score as a team score. This format is played with or without handicap. This is usually a fun format with a medium pace of play for more avid golfers and the results can be calculated quickly. Shamble: In this format every person in the group will tee off from the appropriate tee marker. The group will determine the best of the four shots and everyone else will pick up their ball and place it a clubs length away from the best ball. From this point each player will play individual shots until all team members have holed out. The team will record the lowest score as their team score and the team with the lowest 18 hole score will be the tournament winner. Skins: A match play tournament where a "skin" is a point given to the player with the lowest score on a given hole

CLOSEST TO THE PIN SECOND SHOT

A prize is awarded for the second shot that comes to rest the closest to the pin. The is game is played is par 4's

LONGEST Putt

A prize us awarded to to the player who makes the longest putt on a specific green. Game can be played on any course green or is a great game to have at the practice putting green before or during round.

LONGEST DRIVE

A prize is awarded to the player who strikes the longest drive of the tee box on a selected hole. The ball must land int the fairway to qualify as a winner. This game is to be played on a par 5

STRAIGHTEST DRIVE

A White line is placed down the middle of a given fairway. The drive off the tee box that comes to rest closest to the line is deemed the winner. Normally played on the courses straightest hole; can be a par 4 or par 5.

CIRCLE HOLE

Riverwalk will draw a 15' circle around the pin on a par 3. the volunteer will ask each golfer if they want to buy in. If they buy in for $5 or $10(tournaments choice of price) then they get to play the game. If the ball lands inside the circle they will get a prize if it doesn't land inside the circle they can try again or they will move on. They can have up to 3 tries that do not count as a mulligans, but they have to buy each time. The prize for this can be a sleeve of balls, raffle tickets or anything the tournament decides fits.

Dress Code

All golfers must be in proper golf attire.Proper attire includes a shirt with a collar, slacks or bermuda length shorts, and no denim or t-shirts. Soft spikes or athletic shoes are permitted.

*From the north: Take I-5 South to I-805 South to south on Highway 163 to Friars Road. Turn left (west) to Fashion Valley Road, turn left to Riverwalk Drive and turn right to the clubhouse. *From I-8 and the south: Take Highway 163 north to Friars Road. Turn right (west) to Fashion Valley Road, turn left to Riverwalk Drive and turn right to the clubhouse.


General Information & Contracting Food & Beverage: Enclosed is a list of possible menu selections. The listed items are by no means the limit of what our Executive Chef can create for your event. We can also accommodate vegetarian, vegan & gluten free meals. We would be pleased to assist you in designing a menu to best accommodate your needs. Guarantee Event Counts & Minimums: Contact the Events Department for specific month minimums. Your final guaranteed guest count is due 10 days prior to your event date. From this point your guest count can not go down but can increase until 3 days prior to your event date. The guest count can be lower than the initial estimated amount but the food and beverage minimum must be met. Deposit & Payments: To confirm your date reservation, an initial deposit of 25% of your total estimate will be due at signing of your contract. An additional deposit of 50% will also be due 6 months prior to your event date. The remaining final balance and final count will be due 14 days prior to your event date. Cancellation: All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Deposits and payments can be made by credit or debit card, check or Cash. Final payments can not be made via personal check. Pricing, Service Charge & Tax: Prices are subject to a 21% club service charge and California state sales tax at the current rate. Menu prices cannot be guaranteed until 90 days prior to your event date. Prices and packages are subject to change without notice. Riverwalk Golf Club houses several events and reserves the right to hold multiple events on any given day. Decorations: We ask that you not affix anything to the walls, floors, ceilings or furnishings without prior approval from the Event Sales Director. All Signs and decorations must be professional quality. Glitter, confetti, rice and birdseed are not permitted. All candles must be contained in a glass enclosure. Client at commencement of the event must take all decorations and client property brought to the venue away. Riverwalk Golf Club is NOT responsible for any items that are left at the club. Rentals: Event rentals must go through Riverwalk Golf Club. In the case that Riverwalk Golf Club makes an allowance for an outside company to source goods through the venue, Riverwalk reserves the right to obtain proper licencing. All rentals must be of professional quality and must receive prior approval from the Events team. Liability: Riverwalk Golf Club is not responsible for any damage or loss to any merchandise, articles or valuables belonging to the host or their guest located on the club property prior to. during or subsequent to any function.
