From a base of historic Harrogate, this North Yorkshire tour combines unspoilt landscapes and the fascinating past. Discover the beauty of Yorkshire on foot on included walks, as well as visits to stately homes, the ancient cobbled streets of York and Betty’s Tearooms for a spot of traditional afternoon tea.
Your itinerary
DAY 1 – Arrival in Harrogate & Afternoon Tea at Betty’s
Arrive at your four-star hotel in Harrogate and settle in. Later, we visit the iconic Betty’s Tearooms for a delectable private afternoon tea. + Included Experience – Enjoy afternoon tea at Betty’s Tearooms
DAY 2 – North Yorkshire Moors & Whitby
This morning we take the magical North Yorkshire Moor Railway from Pickering to Whitby though the north Yorkshire Moors National Park. On arrival we’re greeted by the ruins of Whitby’s iconic Abbey, which inspired Bram Stoker to write ‘Dracula’. You may choose to climb the 199 steps to see more of the Abbey or explore the old town with its cobbled lanes and harbour. Later, we return to Harrogate again seeing the National Park. DAY 3 – Historic York
One of England’s finest cities, York got its name from the Vikings, who called it Yorvik and settled here. See the magnificent York Minster, the Medieval

DAY 4 – Fountains Abbey, Studley Water Gardens, Grassington & Harrogate
We head to the UNESCO-listed Fountains Abbey and Studley Water Gardens. The Abbey was once one of the largest Monasteries in the country, there is a chance to explore before driving to the village of Grassington, known as the heart of the dales and the filming location for ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. We return to Harrogate where there is free time. (B,D) + Included Experiences – Visit Fountains Abbey, Studley Water Gardens and Grassington
DAY 5 – Harewood House
