Your itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival in Rome

Arrive at Rome airport for your transfer to your hotel, to settle in or start to explore. This evening we enjoy an informal drinks reception followed by dinner for a chance to get to know your travel companions better. (D)

DAY 2 – Siena

We drive to Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage site, for a guided tour, including its stunning square – the Piazza del Campo. Fashioned from black and white marble, Siena’s cathedral, or Duomo, features delicate and intricate carvings, some by Michelangelo himself. (B,D) + Included Experience – Guided tour of Siena

DAY 3 – Florence & The Uffizi Gallery

During our guided tour of the ‘Pearl of the Renaissance’, you’ll marvel at the famous cathedral, which can house a congregation of 10,000. For masterpieces gathered in one place, the Uffizi is unrivalled. This afternoon bypass the queues with a reserved timed visit. Also experience the buzz of the Piazza della Signoria or a crossing of the Arno River over the Ponte Vecchio. (B,D) + Included Experiences – Guided tour of Florence and timed entry to the Uffizi

Arezzo

DAY 4 – Arezzo & Wine Tasting

Arezzo is a wonderful old town and, on this morning’s walking tour, see Romanesque churches juxtaposed with timber-beamed shops, linked by intimate cobbled squares. We visit the impressive Renaissance Villa La Ripa this afternoon to enjoy a wine tasting. Located in the undulating countryside just outside Arezzo, the family-owned villa is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. DAY 5 – Assisi

We drive to another romantically beautiful region – Umbria. Assisi is famous as the birthplace of Saint Francis, and we visit the Basilica di San Francesco, one of the most beautiful shrines. The remains of Saint Francis lie in a sarcophagus in the crypt. Outside the basilica you can savour Assisi’s flower-adorned streets, life-affirming views over the Umbrian countryside

DAY 6 – Rome

This morning we have a guided tour of Rome, probably no where else on Earth has so much history concentrated in such a small area. We will take in many of the best-known sights, such as St Peter’s, Palatine Hill, the Colosseum, the Forum and so much more. (B) + Included Experiences – Guided tour of Rome and optional visits to Villa d’Este or the ruins of Hadrian’s Villa

DAY 7 – Free day

This morning you’re free to explore, or personalise your holiday with a Vatican Museum tour. This afternoon immerse yourself further in the Eternal City, perhaps viewing the Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the Pantheon. Stroll around the Piazza Navona, Rome’s most picturesque square lined with luxurious cafés and visit the Spanish Steps. (B)

DAY 8 – Return flight

Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
