Dear BEYA Participants:
Welcome to the 2022 BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference. Lockheed Martin is proud to partner once again with Career Communications Group, Inc., and co-host the conference with our friends at the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and U.S. Black Engineer and Information Technology magazine.
Each year, the BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference brings together some of the brightest minds from the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). At this conference, leaders, educators, and students connect and collaborate to ensure that diverse communities continue to play a central role in shaping the future of global innovation and share in the opportunities presented by the high-tech economy of the 21st century.
At Lockheed Martin, we know that in order to advance scientific discovery, develop new technologies, and solve the world’s most complex challenges, our nation must build a strong and diverse pipeline of STEM talent. Whether you’re a young student or a seasoned professional, we hope that as you celebrate exemplary leaders and network with top technical talent over the next few days, you will be inspired to pursue a rewarding career in STEM and use your talents to make the world a better place for all. Collectively, let’s create opportunities for growth, build a more inclusive society, and drive shared economic progress.
On behalf of my 114,000 teammates at Lockheed Martin, I congratulate all the 2022 award winners – including the 41 Lockheed Martin innovators who will be honored this year. For all those in the BEYA STEM community, I hope that you will be motivated and energized by the people you meet, the stories you hear, and the doors you open. I encourage you to take full advantage of all this conference offers and make connections that will last a lifetime.
Enjoy the conference.
Sincerely,
James D. Taiclet Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Lockheed Martin
