Rolex 24 at Daytona® 29th - 30th January 2011 The Rolex 24 at Daytona is a whole weekend of fantastic sports car racing at the famous Daytona Speedway in Florida, USA. With a star studded line up, the Rolex 24 at Daytona is a racing fans nirvana. In 2010 racing legend Hurley Hayward, who won his first title in this event in 1973, made the 48th Rolex 24 his last at Daytona after 40 years of racing. Sadly, defending team Brumos Racing were unable to grant him one final victory after Action Express Racing took the podium. But with the likes of Mike Rockenfeller in the winning team, Hurley Hayward was always going to have his work cut out for him. Like Hayward in previous years, Rockenfeller then went on to win the Le Mans 24 Hours race for Audi Team Sport. Being a speedway, you are never far from the track and with almost uninterrupted views from the 250,000 grandstand seats, great activities, clean facilities and garage access you really are constantly in the heart of the racing action. And if you’re brave enough you can take a ‘hot lap’ around the amazing banked circuit with one of the drivers.

What’s included: • Return economy flights with Virgin Atlantic (from Gatwick or Manchester) • Five days car rental (compact car) • Four nights accommodation at an oceanfront hotel (incl. continental breakfast). Check-in Thursday, January 27th, 2011 Check-out Monday, January 31st, 2011. • Four day general entrance ‘Super ticket’. This all-inclusive pass allows daily access to the infield and grandstands as well as Sprint FANZONE and garage access. • Professional on-site staff for assistance.

The 12 Hours of Sebring 16th - 19th March 2011 In March each year thousands of race fans descend on the historic town of Sebring in Florida for the annual 12 Hours race, that marks the start of the endurance racing season. In 2011 the 12 Hours of Sebring will not only mark the beginning of the American Le Mans Series, but also the opening race of the new ACO Intercontinental Cup. This ensures a high class field and exciting racing. Many teams choose to debut their new cars at Sebring, so it is a first chance to see new technology for teams and spectators alike. Many teams also see Sebring as an opportunity to lay down a marker for the rest of season making the racing very competitive. In 2010 Peugeot dominated the race from the front, and in the absence of Audi (who’s engines were not yet ready for the season) finished in 1st and 2nd places with the Aston Martin Lola showing its pace in 3rd position. Elsewhere Sebring saw the full season debut of the new Drayson Racing LMP1 car and the Jaguar RSR team.

For the spectators Sebring provides some spectacular viewing, as trackside access is plentiful around the old airfield circuit. A short walk can take you across the infield from one side to the other, and although there are no grandstands the elevated “bleachers” around the circuit are fantastic vantage points. For those camping at the circuit reserved trackside plots are highly prized and get you as close to the action as possible. Having an American flavour these trackside plots are often taken by large motorhomes and self-built scaffolding stands.

Extended stays and upgrades: • This option can be extended beyond the race if you wish to visit other areas of Florida during your stay. • Upgrades on Virgin Atlantic flights and car rental can be made at the time of booking. • Prices may vary according to cost of flights. Le Mans 24 Hours 11th - 12th June 2011 Le Mans is the pinnacle of endurance racing. This exceptional circuit, more than 13 kilometres long, glows with an aura created by the most renowned manufacturers and the greatest drivers in motor sport. The Le Mans 24 Hours actually lasts a whole week, beginning with scrutineering on Sunday and Monday, followed by practice and qualifying on Wednesday and Thursday. Le Mans - Going for the first time? Yes? Well to make your life easier we have compiled a short list of FAQ’s. Why book with Travel Destinations? Because it’s easy. Not only have we been sending customers to Le Mans since 1996, we have all personally been to Le Mans on many occasions so we are well qualified to give you the best advice for your requirements. However most importantly and unlike many other operators we are fully bonded members of ABTA and hold an ATOL licence so your money is protected from the day you make your reservation. We are also official ticket agents of the Le Mans 24 Hours organisers (ACO) which enables us to guarantee your tickets and send them to you well in advance of the race.

OK, I am happy to camp Then there are a number of choices; either on-circuit at one of the official campsites or off-circuit in the surrounding area.

What happens if I need help whilst I’m at Le Mans? As a valued customer of Travel Destinations we are here to help you all the way. During the week leading up to the race we have an exclusive helpline number so we are only a phone call away. We will be at the Le Mans circuit, so if necessary can come and meet you within minutes of your call.

There seems to be lots of different on-circuit campsites There are around 15 different on-circuit campsites. They all offer very similar basic toilet and shower facilities. We can advise you of the best one to suit your needs. For the exact location of the on-circuit campsites see our map on page 14.

What and when is Le Mans? Le Mans is the home town of the 24 Hours race - an endurance race like no other with approximately 250,000 spectators. It is one of the biggest sporting events in the world and takes place every year in the middle of June. Where is Le Mans? Le Mans is close to the Loire Valley, France - approximately 130 miles west of Paris. What is the best way to get to Le Mans? By car. Le Mans is easily accessible via motorway from Calais (5hrs) or Caen/Le Havre/St Malo/Cherbourg (3hrs). When should I go to Le Mans? Depending on work/family commitments, we would recommend you go early and come back early. Wednesday or Thursday to Sunday is ideal. There are lots of things to see and do before the race but once the race has finished that’s pretty much the end of the event. What tickets will I need to watch the 24 Hours race? As a minimum you will need one general entrance ticket per person. This gets you pedestrian access into the circuit and general viewing areas. If you are camping you will need a camping pass. Grandstand tickets are optional extras. Entry tickets and camping permits are barcoded and scanned as you enter and leave the circuit.

If I camp on-circuit how many campsite tickets will I need? At least one camping permit per vehicle. Each pitch has an allocated space of 7x5 square metres. Both your vehicle and tent will need to fit into this space. If you require more than 7x5 square metres for either a number of tents or a large vehicle, motorhome or caravan you will need to buy additional camping permits.

Which grandstands are the best? It’s down to personal preference. The closer to the start/finish line the more expensive, however some of the stands at the top of the circuit (Dunlop Bridge) offer excellent views. We can advise you of the best location to suit your requirements. For further details on the grandstands see our map on page 20. What can I expect at the Le Mans 24 hours? The Le Mans 24 Hours is like a motor racing Glastonbury noisy and dirty - but fantastic fun. Ultimately your experience will depend on the people you take with you and your attitude. Where do I get food and drink? There are plenty of places on the circuit where you can buy food and drink. If you are a seasoned camper then there are various supermarkets near the circuit to buy provisions. What if I forget something? As long as it’s not your passport, travel documents or credit cards you’ll be fine. The supermarkets and stores around Le Mans sell virtually everything.

But I don’t want to camp! Don’t worry - whether it’s a basic step up from camping, a room in a hotel or château, or a bed on-circuit, we have a variety of accommodation to suit all budgets.

Grandstand Seats These can be added to your reservation. Although it is possible to view the race from many different locations around the circuit with just a general entrance ticket, quite often this may be from a grass bank through a large crowd and always through a wire fence. Radio Le Mans Travel Destinations are delighted to be one of the official sponsors of Radio Le Mans. 'Imagine a load of people sitting around a table in a pub, talking about sport. Well, we're the table everyone is sitting around.' That's broadcaster John Hindhaugh describing Radio Le Mans, the live radio commentary delivered by the Radio Le Mans team throughout the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

At Le Mans, English-speaking fans, members of the press, and even race teams tune in by phone, online and on their earpiece radios. Radio Le Mans is an annual institution, essential listening, keeping everyone informed - and amused - during the entire race week.

US broadcaster Speed TV has used the Radio Le Mans broadcast to bolster its live Le Mans coverage and Motors TV takes the radio coverage provided for the ALMS. Radio Le Mans are also syndicated across North America in satellite radio with Sirius XM.

For millions of others, Radio Le Mans is able to bring the race alive via the internet, allowing people all over the world to be part of this legendary event.

They're irreverent, informative, and above all, fun. Le Mans wouldn't be the same without Radio Le Mans.

From modest beginnings in 1987, the broadcast has grown in scope and importance, with essentially the same team coming back year after year. It's a formula that has international overtones too. The ALMS has had some of the RLM team at every one of its events since the inaugural running of the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in 1998, a service inspired by Radio Le Mans.

New Travel Destinations website In 2011 Travel Destinations celebrates 15 years in business, and to mark this occasion we are launching a brand new website. Included on this new site you will find all the information you need on our organised tours and events, as well as image galleries and video clips of the events and links to many other interesting and relevant sites.

For 2011 our new events and destinations include Nurburgring 24 Hours and Nurburgring Oldtimer Grand Prix, 24 Hours of Spa and the Spa Francorchamps Classic. Why not go and explore all we have to offer at

www.traveldestinations.co.uk

The Nurburgring Located in the beautiful Eifel region of Germany just across the border from Belgium, nestled within the amazing and far-reaching Eifel forest, lies the formidable and infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife, the Green Hell. There are many major motor racing events held at the Nurburgring during the course of the year, from endurance racing and classic cars to superbikes and touring cars. Every other year, it also hosts the German F1 Grand Prix.

However two of the main highlights each year, and the two events that we are offering you the opportunity to attend, are the ADAC 24 Hours race in June and the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix in August. The races and events are competed over a combination of the GP circuit (5.1km) and the famous Nordschleife (20.8km), this combined circuit is recognised and accepted as one of motor racings toughest challenges. With it’s 170 corners, including the fabulous Karussell, a 210 degree banked corner, and over 1,000ft in altitude change from the lowest to highest points, it is no wonder that the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart described it as “the greatest and most challenging race circuit in the world” and nicknamed it the Green Hell. Over €400m has been spent on modernising and improving facilities at the circuit, and it certainly shows. The Nurburgring facility is now able to boast three fantastic hotels, a casino, a 2,000 seat indoor arena, a karting facility, an event centre, a shopping boulevard, a purpose built entertainment village with restaurants, bars and night clubs and the ring°werk, a 15,000 sq mtr permanent space dedicated to the history and development of motor racing and motor sport through the decades.

There are also two amazing driving centres where you can learn how to control your car in all road and weather conditions, as well as trying to balance a ball in a dish whilst going round an obstacle course, or driving a car fitted with shopping trolley wheels! Slightly further afield is the new off-roading complex and a new development of purpose built holiday homes, all within a just a few minutes drive of the circuit. Accommodation is available (subject to the event and availability) in the form of camping, holiday homes, hotels and B&Bs. All of which is within easy reach of the main circuit or the open areas of the Nordschleife. Be assured, there is so much more to see and do at the Nurburgring than driving yourself around the Nordschleife - although you can do that as well!

Nurburgring 24 Hours 23rd - 26th June 2011 2011 will see the 39th running of the 24 Hours race at the Nurburgring; a truly addictive experience. Encompassing both the famous Nordschleife (the Green Hell) as well as the new Formula 1 circuit, it is acknowledged by most drivers as the most challenging race track in the world. The race is equally unique for the spectator as more than 200 cars take to the elongated starting grid, with everything from works BMWs to privateers with VW Golfs lining up on the track. Spectators can wander unhindered through the paddocks and on to the grid before the race. Then they can watch from the grandstands around the F1 circuit or view from out in the forests around the Nordschleife once the race begins.

The 2010 race was full of excitement and incident. The reigning champions Manthey Porsche, was unfortunately hit broadside by a VW Golf in the middle of the night bringing their race to an early conclusion. The winning car, a BMW Motorsport M3, was not confirmed until the last few minutes, as they had to nurse home the car running on only two gears! Apart from the 24 Hours race, which is clearly the main event of the weekend, other races include the 24 Hours classic car event, the Mini Challenge and the SEAT Leon Supercopa, the Renault Race festival and the Drift Challenge - so there is plenty to keep you occupied from Thursday morning until Sunday night! As the only official UK agent, in 2011 we will be offering camping options in the dedicated Travel Destinations camping area, located on the outside of the F1 circuit.

Camping: What’s included: • Return channel crossings from Dover to Calais (other routes available for a small supplement) • Four nights camping (Thursday - Monday) in the dedicated Travel Destinations camping area • General entrance ticket, including access to the paddock, grid walk and all open grandstands

Angouleme - Circuit des Remparts 16th - 18th September 2011 2011 will be the 72nd anniversary of the Circuit des Remparts event held at the historic town circuit in Angouleme. From 1939-1955 the town and circuit was the host to fantastic motor racing, with drivers such as Fangio, Gonzales and Simon competing. Unfortunately, 1955 was the last year that racing took place and the circuit lay dormant, until 1978 when the event was ‘revived from the ashes’ by none other than Juan Fangio himself. Since 1978 the town has hosted a spectacular motoring extravaganza that is the “Circuit des Remparts”. Witness the Concours d’Elegance on Friday evening where the victor wins their own weight in cognac; join in the sightseeing and gastronomic road run on Saturday, and then take your roadside seat for the street circuit races all day Sunday. Saturday 17th September A variety of events take place throughout the day; • A road run starting at the ‘Geant’ supermarket close to the hotel in North Angouleme takes place. More than 150 cars drive through the roads of the Charente region, with the run finishing at the Place Victor Hugo in the town centre. • A cavalcade of Sunday’s racecars - leaving from the Hotel de Ville at around 10:00hrs towards the ‘Geant’ Supermarket. • From 14:00hrs in the square by the market halls a presentation of Sunday’s race cars and drivers. • Concours d’Etat - starting at 16:00hrs in the gardens of the Hotel de Ville.
