ParramattaRoadCorridorUrbanTransformationStrategy

ThesiteislocatedwithintheCamperdownPrecinctoftheParramattaRoadCorridorasdefinedbythe ParramattaRoadCorridorUrbanTransformationStrategy(PRCUTS)(Figure2).

ThevisionforParramattaRoadCorridoris:

Ahigh-qualitymulti-usecorridorwithimprovedtransportchoices,betteramenityandbalanced growthofhousingandjobs.

TechCentral–(previouslyknownastheCamperdown-UltimoCollaborationArea)

InadditiontoPRCUTS,thesiteiswithinTechCentral(Figure2).

TechCentralstretchesfromCamperdowntoUltimo,andcoversDarlingtonandEveleigh;mostof Haymarket,UltimoandCamperdown;andpartsofGlebe,ForestLodge,Newtown,RedfernandSurry Hills.

Itisenvisagedtoevolveintoamatureinnovationeco-systemsupportedbyhealthandeducation institutionsincludingtheRoyalPrinceAlfredHospital,UniversityofSydney,UniversityofTechnology Sydney,TAFENSWandUniversityofNotreDame.

TheCamperdown-UltimoCollaborationAreaPlaceStrategy2019identifiestheprecinctasan innovationandtechnologycapitalandrecognisestheneedfornewandaffordableemploymentfloor spacetosupportinnovation,research,creativeindustries,andcollaborativeprojectsacrossindustry, business,healthandeducationsectors.

ThesiteiswithintheCamperdownprecinctasidentifiedbyPRCUTSandTechCentral.New developmentonthesiteistobeconsistentwiththefollowingdesiredfuturecharacterstatement. Thefuturedevelopmentwill:

 PositivelycontributetothetransitionofCamperdownprecinctinTechCentraltoahigh-density healthandeducationprecinctthroughprovisionofemploymentusesinthehealth,education, biomedicalandtechnologysectors.

C2. Wasteandrecyclingfacilitiesmustbemanagedinacousticallytreatedareastominimisethe noiseofcollection.

AcompletedSiteWasteMinimisationandWasteManagementPlan(SWMMP)addressing ongoingwasteandresourcerecoveryistobesubmittedwithanydevelopmentapplication.The SWMMPistoincludedetailsofthefollowing: typesandestimatedquantitiesofthepredictedwastestreams sizeandlocationofrecyclingandwastestorageareas,includingbulkywaste-routes ofaccessandtransferfromsourcetostorageareasforallusers routesoftransferfromstorageareastocollectionpoint accessrouteforwasteandrecyclingcollectionvehicle ongoingmanagement,includingresponsibilityforcleaningandtransferofbins betweenstorageareasandcollectionpoints,shaandmaintenanceofrelevant signage,andongoingeducationofalltenants.
