Making Your Organic Flower Garden Picture Perfect To some, there is nothing more beautiful than a spring flower garden in full bloom. There is something therapeutic about a flower garden. They seem to appeal to the senses: the floral scent, the bright colors and the feel of the delicate buds. Like all beautiful things, these gardens do not happen accidentally. They take time to plan, plant and bloom. The wonderful thing about flower gardens is that it doesn't matter how big or small you make them, how much money you have to spend on them, or the climate you live in. You can still design a garden that not only helps you express your creativity, but will allow others to see the beauty of your labor. While growing a flower garden may seem like a daunting task at first, learning a few basic rules will ease your mind and set you on your way to growing something of absolute beauty. Once you have decided that you want to take on the challenge of an organic flower garden, there are some things that you will need to do before you begin to create a picture perfect organic flower garden. First, you will need to find which flowers and foliage species are compatible with your climate. Not all plants grow well everywhere. Once you find plants that flourish within the climate you live, you will need to find the perfect spot to grow your flowers. Since some plants do quite well in hours of full sun, others may need partial shade in order to grow to their full potential. Go to your local library, garden specialist or internet search engine to research each plant and find the best place to plant your flowers. Water is the next issue you will need to address before planting your flower garden. Will your garden be planted well within reach of a water well, sprinkler system or garden hose? Will you need to haul water to your plants? It is probably best to plant them in a spot that has easiest access to water.

Once you have determined the ideal place for your organic flower garden, your next step is to prep the soil before planting. A good mulch or compost is the perfect addition to the soil and can be easily spread on top of your plot and raked to mix. There are also many organic fertilizers, herbicides, and bug deterrents available on the market that will help your flowers blossom without hurting the planet. The next step is to finally plant your flower seeds or plants, taking care to plant individual plants in spots where they will get the most sun or shade, whichever their individual needs are. Now you will need to care for and water your plants daily to ensure that the root structure settles nicely into the soil and the plants feel at home. With a little love, care, patience and diligence, you will soon have a picture perfect flower garden that you and others can enjoy all spring and summer long.
