FORT COLLINS Art Scene

Fort Collins’ thriving arts community is easy to find in its many galleries, theaters, and downtown public art displays. Your chance to enjoy visual arts won’t end there, however. Colorado State University and community museums, galleries, and co-ops all welcome visitors.

The Fort Collins Museum of Art and Art Center of Fort Collins offer an on-going diverse series of exhibitions, community events, and educational programs for children and adults. Located in the historic 1911 Post Office Building, the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday. Visit moafc.org for hours and featured exhibitions.

The world-class University Center for the Arts, just east of the main CSU campus, houses the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art and the Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising, The center hosts more than 250 performances and exhibitions annually featuring student and professional productions of music, dance, and theater that range from the classical to avant garde. For a current list of performances and exhibitions go to uca.colostate.edu.

Historic Downtown Fort Collins is also home to a vibrant art community and each month artists are featured in Art Walk, a monthly self-guided walking tour that celebrates creativity, culture, and community. From fine to funky, Art Walk showcases a spectrum of artistic styles to entertain and engage amateurs and art aficionados of all ages, interests and backgrounds. The walk can be done any day of the week. For a list of businesses and artists go to downtownfortcollins.com/experience/itineraries/first-friday-art-walk/.
