Community Standards for plant density:
DCRL-12 & 13
Many neighborhoods in DC Ranch have a plant density requirement which is the minimum number of plants in a set amount of square footage on a property. For example, 1:25 means that 1 plant is required for every 25 sq. ft. in the front yard areas. Density requirements vary by landscape zone and Village. Within this plant density, each neighborhood has a base shrub—in PU1 it is Turpentine, in PU2 & Country Club it is Bursage, in the Parks at Silverleaf & Horseshoe it is Damianita, in Upper Canyon and Arcadia it varies between Bursage, Turpentine and Damianita. DC Ranch has an approved plant list of over 300 different plant species, and a prohibited plant list. Artificial plants (excluding artificial turf) are not permitted, in pots or otherwise.
