Division 5/18 March Newsletter
Lt. G’s Corner Well guys! It’s been a quick year, and this will be my last newsletter. Once April starts, the new division Lieutenant Governor will be Cedric Perea, of Monte Vista High School. And while it’s a chance for more growth, it’s a bittersweet moment for me. I’ve been incredibly honored to serve this division, and I’ve been blown away by all your dedication. My advice for all you as you continue in your Key Club journeys is to remember servant leadership, and let that guide your choices. Remember the Key Club motto, and truly make caring your lifestyle. May we never do anything for recognition or likes, but out of the goodness of our hearts. This year has been a complete whirlwind! It’s been great Division 5/18!
Club Happenings Many clubs have held elections, and new officers will be installed after DCON! Alamosa High School’s bulletin editor candidates at left. The club has continued volunteering at their local animal shelter, as well as soup kitchen.
Yours in service, Megan Curry
Vision Partner- IHOP Servant Leadership- what is it? Servant leadership is an integral part of Key Club. It’s not leading to advance your own position, but to help the people you lead. Your goal is to inspire growth and development of the people around you. You don’t expect recognition or glory for your leadership. Instead, you get satisfaction from serving.
National Pancake Day this year was March 7th, and you could go and get a free stack of pancakes at participating IHOPs. In the division, there’s one IHOP in Alamosa, and the Alamosa Kiwanis made good use of the holiday. Eating at IHOP this day gives the chain the chance to donate to charity. As Key Club is affiliated with IHOP, it’s a great chance to show support for the chain.
