Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern Colorado Since opening our doors on February 14 1987, the Ronald McDonald House® has provided a home base for over 10,000 families needing a place to stay while their critically ill or injured child received treatment at a nearby Colorado Springs medical facility. With the opening of the new Children’s Hospital on the UCH / Memorial North Campus, as well as other nearby pediatric medical facilities, there is a fast-growing need of our services in Northern Colorado Springs. In order to continue supporting and allowing the growing number of families to remain close by to care for their hospitalized children, we must relocate and expand our Ronald McDonald House. The new Ronald McDonald House provides four times more space and doubles our guest room capacity to support more families in need as they find hope and healing while remaining steps away from their hospitalized child.
Goal Our goal is to raise $10 million to open a new 25,000 square-foot Ronald McDonald House that significantly increases the number of families we serve while providing additional amenities that help make a family’s stay as comfortable as possible – including areas
■
20 guest rooms with private bathrooms and handicap accessibility
■
An elevator to make both floors and all rooms accessible to everyone
■
Two state-of-the-art kitchens with expanded cooking areas
■
A large family dining room with plenty of guest seating
■
Large indoor and outdoor play areas with new equipment, plus a space just for teens
■
An outdoor dining and entertainment area with a built-in grill
■
A spacious and comfortable main lobby with a private family check-in area
