Try Malta's National Dish Head to Mġarr (Malta), the rural village famed for its mouth-watering rabbit, Malta's de facto national dish. The town boasts numerous typical Maltese restaurants.

For the more adventurous folk, head towards Baħrija, one of Malta's most remote villages, also famed for its Maltese culinary fare. We suggest New Life Bar. Other Maltese delicacies you could sample at Mġarr or Baħrija include Snails (Bebbux), Horse Meat (Laħam taż-Żiemel) & Quails (Summien).

NIGHTLIFE

<<

Valletta has a burgeoning nightlife scene. As a more mature alternative to Paceville, one finds numerous bars, wine bars and live music venues here, besides a wide array of restaurants.

Paceville, Malta's notorious nightlife district, is popular among youth and tourists alike. Here one can find a wide variety of bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes.

>>

A particularly popular destination is Strait Street, Malta´s nightlife district until the 1960s, which has been recently rejuvenated. Venues which offer live music in and around the city include Bridge Bar (left), Cafe Society and Kaşin Vilhena. 15
