SET UP SENTRY SECURED ACCOUNT - RMU.EDU/MYRMU

ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT Activate your RMU Sentry Secured account today! Once you do, you will have immediate access to your RMU email account, academic information, online bill paying, and much more. YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE AN ACTIVE RMU ACCOUNT TO REQUEST AND RECEIVE YOUR I-20. Follow these directions to activate your account: STEP 1: Visit RMU.EDU and click on the “Current Students” link at the very top of the page STEP 2: On the Current Students page you will see the titled “Sentry Secured Services” box on the right >> Click on “Jew User$ Activate Your Account” and enter the following information: Last 10 digits of your Freedom Card number. >> Enter the last four digits of your Social Security or Social Insurance number and your date of birth. Most international students do not have this number. If you do not have one, enter the last four digits of your Student ID Jumber. The last four digits of your Student ID number can be found in the account activation email. STEP 3: Click “Submit” and follow the instructions to establish your RMU username and password. STEP 4: Check your RMU email for information on requesting your I-20 and next steps.

PAYING YOUR DEPOSIT Your B500 deposit secures your place in our fall class and also in residence halls for those students planning to live on campus –requires completed housing contract.N You can pay your deposit online by logging into your Sentry Secured Services account. >> Under the Financial heading select Registration Deposit— First-time Students. >> Complete the form and submit with payment.

PLACEMENT TESTING All Undergraduate students are required to take the Math Placement test. It does not change your admissions but rather helps us place you in the appropriate level of Math. You will receive instructions via email from Admissions on how to take the test. Do this as soon as possible.

FIRST YEAR SEMINAR All first-time undergraduate students are required to take a course called FYSP: Orientation to American Universities. If you are required to take the course, you will automatically be registered for the class. This course will explain the skills needed to be successful at Robert Morris University. It will also help educate you about many services that RMU provides to its students. As with all classes, you must be ATTENDING the class in order to be successful.

PAYMENT OPTIONS You will receive email notification of your fall 2018 invoice in late June. However, you can begin making your plans for payment arrangements now. RMU offers convenient options for you to manage your balance for the coming year: >> MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN 7 Divide your total anticipated charges for the entire upcoming academic year into monthly payments that are interest free! To enroll, students must complete an application and agreement and submit it to the Office of Student Financial Services no later than uly 31. DINING & MEAL PLANS RMU offers many delicious and nutritious dining options. The PJC Colonial Café has food stations offering freshly made home-cooked meals, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, crepes, smoothies, a fully stocked salad bar, and more. (rab a gourmet coffee and pastry, or en%oy a fresh, made-to-order sandwich or salad at RoMo’s Café. Our Hale Center Café offers a quick option for students on the go, with pre-made sandwiches, snacks, and Starbucks to perk up your day. The Wheatley Center Café offers delicious daily specials, soups, and on-the-go options. Yorktown Café offers garden fresh salads, wraps, wings, pizza, hand-dipped milkshakes, and a unique build your own burger experience. The Ice House Gistro, located in the RMU Island Sports Center, features popular choices like hamburgers, pizza, Philly cheese steaks, and grilled chicken sandwiches. All resident students must purchase a meal plan. Off-campus students have the option to select a meal plan as well. A commuter plan is also available for the student who occasionally dines on campus and wants the convenience of using their Freedom Card and saving the 6/ PA sales tax. VISA INFORMATION After your I-20 is issued, you need to complete some more steps before arriving in the U.S. STEP 1 Pay I-901 SEVIS fee at FMJFEE.COM STEP 2 Complete a visa application at CEAC.STATE.GOV/GENNIV Pay visa fees and schedule a visa appointment Note: Canadian citizens do not need an F-1 Visa. They must travel and present the signed I-20. STEPS AFTER YOUR VISA IS ISSUED

STEP 3 Travel to the U.S. with all your immigration documents. Let us know you arrived in the United States and RMU via email. You can arrive up to 30 days before the date on your I-20. STEP 4 Maintain your F-1 student status by: >> Attending mandatory orientation >> Attending government mandated meeting with the International office >> Registering and attending the required credits for your program. We cannot register you for classes if you have not taken any of the required placement tests.

HEALTH INSURANCE

REQUIRED HEALTH FORMS You must submit your health information forms to the Student Health Center by August 1, 2018. If you plan to be a resident student, you will not be permitted to move in until these forms are completed by your physician and received at the university. The health information form provides our staff with important information about your medical history that will help us to give you proper medical treatment should you need it. We also require that your immunizations are up to date. This may require a visit with your family physician if you have not had one recently or are not current on your required immunizations. The examination may be completed by a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner. Don’t delay in scheduling an appointment with your physician to have these forms completed7many doctor’s offices are busy in late summer before the start of the school year.

In order to ensure that students have proper coverage should medical services be needed while in school, all RMU STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF HEALTH INSURANCE. To provide RMU with your current insurance information: >> Visit RMU.EDU/STUDENTINSURANCE >> Choose the “Student Insurance” option >> Log in to eServices, select the “Add” option, and enter the requested information >> Your information will be sent automatically to the Student Health Center Proof of comparable medical insurance coverage must be provided by uly 31, 2018, for the upcoming academic year, or you will automatically be enrolled in RMU’s health insurance plan and your student account will be charged for the insurance cost. Once you provide proof of comparable coverage using the steps above, the health insurance charge will be removed from your account. Please contact your admissions counselor if you have any questions regarding the student health insurance requirement.

PARKING & SECURITY All students who either commute or plan to have a car on campus while they live in residence must obtain a student parking permit to park on campus. Visit RMU.EDU/PARKING and select “Student Parking Permit” to register your vehicle. You will be prompted to log in to your Sentry Secured account and apply for your parking permit. This page also includes important information about parking locations, rules, and guidelines you should review before bringing your vehicle to campus. RMU Alert is the university’s emergency notification system. We use this to send instant information to students about closings and delays due to inclement weather, a safety issue or concern that they need to be aware of, and general university-wide announcements. RMU Alert registration is required for accessing the RMU network and grades, therefore students are strongly advised to sign up for RMU Alert before arriving on campus.

Visit our Student IT Information website at RMU.EDU/IT, where you can find helpful information about setting up your RMU (mail account, recommended specifications for the computer you bring to campus, lab and help desk hours, as well as the various support available for students, and excellent hardware and software discounts available for RMU students.

Visit RMU.EDU/RMUALERT to sign up today. You will first be required to log into Sentry Secured services. Your parents are also encouraged to enter their contact information to receive RMU Alert messages. T ORIENTATION INTERNATIONAL STUDEN MANDATORY FOR ALL ST UDENTS All incoming international students are required to attend the International Student Orientation. More details about orientation dates, times and locations visit RMU.EDU/GLOBAL and click on the INCOMING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS link. You can arrive up to 30 days before the start of class. This means there is plenty of time to arrive and find housing before the orientation days if you are not planning on living on campus.
