INGREDIENTS

• 1 Thick & Rich Chocolate Protein Shake* (mixed with water)

• Peppermint Stevia®, to taste

• Ice cubes, to taste

DIRECTIONS

1. Combine ingredients in a blender and pulse until fully combined.

2. Add water if desired to reach a smoother consistency.

Mediterranean Baked Chicken with Lemon

INGREDIENTS

• 8 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless (6 oz. each)

• 3 medium lemons, thinly sliced (about 1/2 cup)

MARINADE INGREDIENTS

• 1/2 cup lemon juice

• 6 garlic cloves, minced

• 1 tsp salt

• 1 tsp dried thyme

• 1/2 tsp pepper

• 1/4 tsp ground allspice

• 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS

SPICE INGREDIENTS

• 2 tsp paprika

• 1/2 tsp garlic salt

• 1/2 tsp lemon pepper

• 1/4 tsp ground allspice

• 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

1. In a small bowl, whisk the marinade ingredients until blended.

2. Pour 1/2 the marinade into a large resealable plastic bag. Add chicken, seal the bag, and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Cover and refrigerate the remaining marinade.

3. Preheat oven to 350°F.

4. Spay a baking dish with zero-calorie nonstick cooking spray. Arrange lemon slices in the dish.

5. Drain chicken and discard marinade. Place chicken over lemon slices.

6. Mix spice blend ingredients; sprinkle over chicken. Drizzle with reserved marinade.

7. Bake chicken covered for 35-40 mins. or until the chicken is 165°F.

SPRING-INSPIRED RECIPES

INGREDIENTS

• 6 salmon fllets, skin and remove any pin bones (36 oz.)

• 2 Tbsp Swerve® Brown Sugar Replacement

• 1 Tbsp chili powder

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE WEIGHT LOSS for

Recipe Yields: 36 oz. of protein

• 1 tsp ground cumin

• 1/8 tsp salt

• 1/8 tsp black pepper

• Zero-calorie nonstick cooking spray

DIRECTIONS

1. Spray pan with zero-calorie nonstick cooking spray and preheat over medium heat.

2. Combine Swerve® Brown Sugar Replacement, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.

3. Spray each salmon fllet with zero-calorie nonstick cooking spray. Rub each fllet with about 1/2 Tbsp of the spice mixture.

4. Cook the salmon, fesh side down, for 4-5 mins. Flip the salmon and cook another 5-6 mins.

5. Add fsh to a platter and serve immediately.

Roasted Asparagus & Mushroom Pesto Pasta Salad

Recipe Yields: 4 1/4 cups of vegetables

INGREDIENTS

• 1 bunch asparagus (about 2 cups)

• 1 large tomato, diced (about 1 1/4 cups)

• 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced (1 cup)

• 3 cups Miracle Noodles® Fettuccine*

• Salt and pepper, to taste

• Zero-calorie nonstick cooking spray

BASIL PESTO INGREDIENTS

• 3 cloves raw garlic

• 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

• 1/4 cup chicken broth or water

DIRECTIONS

• 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

• 2 Tbsp lemon juice

• 1/4 tsp dried oregano

• Salt and pepper, to taste

1. Purée pesto ingredients in a food processor. This step can be done 1-2 days in advance.

2. Preheat oven to 425ºF.

3. Cut off asparagus ends, cut stalks into 1-inch pieces.

4. Place on a cookie sheet. Add mushrooms to pan then spray with zero-calorie nonstick cooking spray and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat veggies and place in oven.

5. Cook for 12-15 mins., or until tender yet slightly crisp.

6. Cook fettuccine to package directions. When fnished cooking, drain.

7. In a large bowl, combine pasta, roasted asparagus, mushrooms, pesto, and diced tomato. Stir to cover everything in pesto.

3 Exercises for Beginners

Hold Tall Plank, Tap Shoulders

Make sure your shoulders are stacked over your wrists. Hold a “tall” plank on your toes.* Right hand quickly taps left shoulder, and left hand then quickly taps right shoulder. Continue to alternate.

*Modifed Move: Complete on your knees

Alternate Forward Lunge

Stand upright, step forward, leading with the left foot and sink into the left heel as you drop your right knee toward the foor (the goal is to get both knees bent at 90° angles). Push back into a standing position and step forward with your right foot. Continue and alternate sides.

Wide-to-Narrow Squat

Stand with legs close together, sink into heels, then stand up, and step left for a wide squat. Stand up, back to a narrow squat. Stand up and step right to a wide squat. Stand tall to a narrow squat, and continue.

My job as an on-air radio talent requires me to be in the public eye every day. Being overweight made it diffcult to be comfortable in my own skin. I worked with some of the skinniest women in the business, so I always felt like the fat girl. If there were an event coming up, I’d dread it because I needed to fnd a new outft to wear. It didn’t matter how hard I tried; I could never hide the fat.

My weight also made me not want to go out anywhere. I’d come up with excuses as to why I had to stay home because I felt I embarrassed my family when we were with others. I’m naturally very social, but my weight kept me from people because I didn’t like my appearance.

I debated weight loss surgery because I had done every diet possible. You name it; I tried it. Some were more successful than others. However, the weight would always come back, and I’d be heavier than when I started. I got on the scale one morning and weighed as much as I did when I had my son… 10 years prior! I couldn’t believe I had let myself get this way.

At the time, I wasn’t sleeping well. I’d wake up in the middle of the night choking because I had either stopped breathing or choked on my tongue. One night, I woke up gasping for air and couldn’t catch my breath. That was it. I was done being overweight for good this time.

The issue I’ve always had with weight loss was not seeing results fast enough. With Red Mountain Weight Loss®, I saw the scale change quickly, which kept me going. Shortly after I started RM3®, my clothes began to ft better, my sleep improved, and people started to notice. I felt like I could succeed this time.
