HOW TO FIND US

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) is New Zealand’s leading yacht club, and the largest sporting club in New Zealand. The RNZYS reached a major milestone in 2021, celebrating our 150th sesquicentenary year since our formation in 1871.

The RNZYS is still the official home of the America’s Cup after Emirates Team New Zealand, representing the RNZYS, successfully defended the oldest sporting trophy in the world at the 36th America’s Cup in Auckland in 2021.

Located at the Westhaven Marina, just 10 minutes from the CBD at the foot of the Harbour Bridge, we enjoy a spectacular outlook with some of Auckland’s best waterfront views.

One of only seven ‘Royal Yacht Squadrons’ in the world, we are proud of our heritage and legacy of success, and our unrivalled position in sailing history as the proud winner of every worldclass yacht race globally, including winning and successfully defending the America’s Cup, the most coveted prize in sailing.

RNZYS members continue to excel on the world stage, keeping us at the forefront of our inimitable sport.

Ours truly is a club where fledgling sailors can rub shoulders with those who have excelled on the global stage. The sailing stars of the future can be found honing their skills in our world-renowned Mastercard Youth Training Programme and RNZYS Performance Programme.
