supa the hot pot
SUPA | the hot pot Supa is a ceramic apple steeper ideated to promote moments of conviviality. It is inspired by the mountain environment of Trentino, where the cold winter invites to stay at home and have a cup of hot, good and healthy beverage, ideally in (good!) company. Something that encloses the flavour of the regional fruit - the apple.
With a spherical shape, Supa is a big handcrafted ceramic mug which warms your hands up to fight the cold. The container cannot be held in the hands until it cools down a bit. This indicates the time needed for the fruit infusion to be ready, about 5/8 minutes.
The felt cover keeps the beverage hot and allows you to move Supa also during the infusion time. Completely self-produced, it is handcrafted by artisans in Milan. Every piece is unique, every imperfection is a value.
Supa is one of the seven winners of the third edition of the contest “A Designer a Day 2014 organised by Consorzio la Trentina, one of the most significant realities in apple cultivation in both national and European territory, in collaboration with Poli.Design and Design Hub. From November 2014 it is exposed and sold at Galleria Civica of Mart in Trento.

Supa Communication
Supa | communication Thanks to the collaboration with the chef Piergiorgio Bonanomi, La Trentina apples were combined with other ingredients, both fresh and dried, in order to produce 5 recipes for 5 different apple varieties: Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Golden Delicious and Granny Smith. We realized the entire communication: recipes shooting, cookbook, packaging and installation.

quando lo scarto e' d'oro
quando lo scarto e' d'oro The goal of this project was to exploit/develop a new supply which promotes the sale of constant waste materials and the commercialization of reused, eco-friendly, and semi-handcrafted products. An open-source database of constant industrial leftovers was realized as a mean of communication and defines a new eco-design tool. Things no longer needed by someone could become a valuable good to someone else thus kickstarting a sustainable network between industries, designers and citizens.
The waste materials are collected throught factories. Open-source cataloge of waste materials. REMIDA
Possible partnerships with city administration, universities and associations.
The service offers workshops, events and a digital platform for realization and selling of handcrafted products made by reused materials.

chubby
CCHUBBY Thi seat is realized using four different waste materials: cardboard tubes, cotton-waste, fabric scraps and elastic selvages. Thanks to its This mi minimal aesthetic, Chubby is adaptable to different spaces. It is sold disassembled, the user could build it in few simple passages.
The paddings, realized with cotton-waste, selvages and fabric, are inserted inside the tubes letting them to “puff out of the upper hole creating a soft and confortable surface.
The elastic selvages are used to bound together the tubes both on the top and the base of the structure. The cardboard tubes are used to create the structure. The upper extremity is shaped to realize a more confortable seat.

intexto
intexto This bean bag chair is realized by weaving together elastic and non elastic selvages in order to create a unique textile sack that could be padded direct by the users. For each pouf 100/150 metres of selvages scraps are used: that is a valid alternative to reuse these leftovers that are on the average of 3 millions of metres per year for each textile company. The sack is sold empty to reduce the transport costs; the final user could fill it through old cloths, fabrics or rags reusing domestic scraps.
In this specific project the realized fabric is stitched in a sack shape with the lower extremity open to allow the padding.
The selvages are weaved together by handcrafted knitting techniques, this process makes possible reusing the huge amount of selvages produced as leftovers from textile industries. 2013 / Product Design / Use of Resources
minimize
minimize This project arises from the specific value of the used leftover: to be extensible. It is a light and versatile bag, realizable through simple handcrafted processes. Thanks to the particular material used it is possible to create different shapes, as circular or L shape, making the object really adaptable to contain different goods.
The two extremities are closed with flexible plastic caps, adaptable to the tube profile.
The peculiarity of this object is the possibility to extend it from 130 mm to 500 mm, moreover it is easy to transport and store once the destination is reached.
The bag is realized through an extendible PVC plastic tube used as the body.

sling
sling A particular glove compartment realized with elastic fabric scraps used to create the different shelves. Books and other objects are inserted between the stripes exploiting the peculiar elasticity of the used material. By that way users are the real creators of the product final shape, an object in a continuous formal and aesthetic evolution.
The elastic stripes, stretched through the supports, are inserted between the wooden supports. The fabric is divided in five stripes with two “loops at the extremities where some wooden slats are collocated in order to block their position.
The structure is composed by four wooden cylindrical supports attached to the wall and separated just by 10 mm. One of the most interesting characteristics is the dimension of the disassembled product: a five shelves glove compartment is contained in a small and light box of 260X240X140 mm.

la prospettiva dell'io
la prospettiva dell'io . prospectives / Dimensione del SĂŠ nello spazio Measure the world means to compare and contrast it with our own identity. For that reason people build their personal prospective, defining a scenario characterized by million different points of view. Prospectives is the rapresentation of my dimension in the space.
Starting from a white sheet of paper a solid figure is realized through incisions and folds.
This three-dimensional shape represents my prospective, my personal way to measure the world and the society.
The solid is in the centre of the sheet as I am at the core of my personal universe; its dimension represents my height related to the paper sheet (20 cm = 10 mt).

the final countdown
the final countdown / Awareness vs Anxiety Time is a human limit and all of us have to deal with it. Personally, time makes me feel a little impatient. The awareness of its rush makes me working and living faster, makes me be “in time”. Anxiety is the feeling that comes from seeing the things around us running out.
A countdown is drawn on the paper with the aim of warning users of its ending. For me Time is an incentive to do more and better, a motivation to do things and don’t lie down. This project is just a joke, but with a big goal: “make the most out of it”.

In this project Time is represented through daily objects consumption. The attention is concentrated on the ironic side of this theme in order to make it lighter; so it was chosen to work with toilet paper as provocative mean.

legami
legami /Stories of objects "out of plenty" All brands are based on different kind of values such as connections, bonds and relationships that link together people with their objects. The mission of the project is to create a value around our objects involving both the emotional side and the relational one. The feelings are linked with a specific object making it unique, one in a million.
It is necessary to create a tale that engages different people through a simple instrument allowing them to hand down their emotions.
It is possible to write down the story of the object on the fabric, preserving its memories forever.
A simple packaging realized with a fabric stripe that, knotted around the object, protects and collects it. 2012 / Graphic and Communication / Awareness Design
&CO
&&CO / Use everything, waste nothing The final goal of the service has been individuated following a Living Lab methodology: all the different social actors, students, residents, com commuters, who daily live the city, have been involved in every “action/event carried out by the &CO team both inside and outside the un university spaces.
The service is both based on a physical platform, the &CO Store, and a digital one, the &CO App.
DIGITAL PLATFORM The &CO Collaborative Service aims to network, etwork, through a digital platform, a free Application tion for smartphones, all the possible suppliers off waste materials (copy centres, box factories, supermarkets, carpentries etc.) to the ones willing to reuse them (universities, cultural associations, art schools etc.) inside the same urban area.
The mission is to activate a sustainable network where materials could be re-introduced into the consumption cycles. What has no more value for a user could have it for someone else. 2012 / Service / Use of Resources Team: Basile/ Bonanomi/ Manenti/ Moretti
il sole e la luna
il sole e la luna This concept tries to change the common idea of scale by highlighting how it works, in a simple and intuitive way. Tomato scale is based on the physical principle of air compression, making it foolproof and unverstandable. Moreover the production is very simple and economics thanks to the used technologies. The foos is collocated in a plastic support generating a force on the baloon.
The scale is composed of a sylicon baloon connected with two circular plastic slabs.
The weight deforms the baloon shape and it is marked on the three vertical supports. 2012 / Graphic and Communication / Nature

snail chair
snail chair This project arises from the study of nature, specifically from the animal world, and it is inspired to a snail. Two different materials, wood and plastic, are used creating a natural turnover between them. All the different sections of the chair are realized by lathing's technology and joined together in order to define the final shape of the product.
It is possible to connect different seats together through some special wooden flat surfaces creating a horizontal support.
The shape is clean and simple and highlights the animal profile both in the seat and in the seatback.
The chair could be used in different ways as for example at astride with a leg on either side of the chair.

bulb lamp
bulb lamp This project derives from the analysis of laser cut technology combined with the study of light use. From a single plastic sheet it is possible to realize various shapes that, combined together, allowing the creation of a 3D object. Moreover, starting from the same model, every graphic could be applied to the lamp’s components.
A square horizontal support is the lamp base. Through some cuts it is possible to collocate the different slabs in various positions.
The user can freely choose the final shape of his lamp simply moving those slabs. The Bulb Lamp is realized from a single PMMA sheet of 500 X 500 mm.

seed
seed / Use and Plant Cutlery This project comes from the analysis of the self-production trend and tries to connect it with the world of disposable objects. Seed is a set of disposable cutlery, but with a very unusual second use.
The cutleries are joined together shaping a seed. The user can crack it obtaining a fork and a knife-spoon.
Seed is made by Mater-bi, an organic plastic generated from corn.
Vegetable and fruit seeds are inserted in a cavity on the cutlery reverse side. After the use it is possible to literally plant the entire set of cutlery in order to let the seeds grow up.

diamond
diamond The creation of a kaleidoscope is based on the studies of light and how it can be directed and used into a specific space. From the outside Diamond seems a simple solid, while looking inside it is possible to discover a new world filtered by its mirrors. It is an object always in evolution that changes the world around us every time we look inside.
A single cardboard sheet, cropped and folded in twenty different triangles, is used to realize the solid; the two extremities are finally glued together.
The cardboard diamond is covered inside by plenty of mirrors, one for each face of the figure, in order to produce the illusion of being inside a real diamond.
