Welcome and introduction The Careers & Employability Centre provides a friendly, professional and accessible service that supports you in developing your career plans, assists with job search activities and in making effective applications for employment and further study here in the UK and across the globe. Before you arrive, think about how to make the most of your time at university. Employers look for more than a degree when considering candidates. In addition to technical skills, they seek skills and behaviours such as communication, problem solving, working in a team and many more. Take advantage of wider opportunities at university such as internships, industry projects, volunteering and other work experience positions. You should also, as much as your studies allow, continue with any extra curricular activities you do. These will not only enrich your CV, but will provide you with more evidence to draw upon when completing application forms and during interviews.

EMPLOYER ON-CAMPUS PRESENTATIONS AND CAREERS FAIRS Throughout the year employers hold individual events or attend one or more of the Careers Fairs at RGU. This is an opportunity to meet with employers to discuss their recruitment requirements and find out more about the company. Employers do not directly recruit at these events, they are there to meet with you, answer any questions you may have and to encourage you to apply for their opportunities. CONNECT WITH A CAREERS CONSULTANT We are always happy to communicate, and answer any questions, new and potential students may have about course choice and how it matches your career ambitions. Once on campus, you can arrange to meet with a Careers Consultant to talk through your ideas and options. We offer bookable career advice sessions, daily drop in sessions for quick queries and guidance appointments for mock interviews and in-depth career coaching.
