WELCOME! To another season of buying for your store and another Spry Winter Market. At the time of writing this Welcome note, the Spry Season Preview is taking place. What’s particularly super-exciting about that is what’s going on outside. There is already accumulations of snow on the ground. Quite unbelievably; Blue Mountain and most of the other Georgian Triangle hills are opening this weekend! All of this is setting up the local riding and trail seasons nicely. Winter boots and jackets are making cash registers sing. It appears the weather gods have decided to co-operate again and at the most wonderfully appropriate time for retail business. A heart-felt “Thanks, Big Guys”!
Spry Show - The Treasure Trove of great opportunities for your store
WELCOME
Once again; there are lots of brands that will be showing for the first time and a fantastic mix of categories and genres. The new at Spry brands are identified with an “*” in the Exhibiting Brands List. There are lifestyle apparel and accessory brands, athleisure brands and even more footwear brands than ever before. In total there will again be more than 500 brands present at the Winter Market strategically and thoughtfully squeezed into the Embassy Grand building like never before! The Show is a fantastic opportunity to research great new product for your customers for the next Fall/Winter season and to get a ton of buying done for the store in a super-productive and relaxed environment over 4 mid-week days.
4
Coming in for the Show is also a great opportunity to mingle with other progressive, creative independent retailers and to pick up ideas for your store. It always amazes me the great ideas that get bounced around over a chat with a peer whilst having a sandwich in the Buyers Lounge or over a cocktail at the social on Tuesday. We hope that you will and encourage you to take your time at the show. There’s a ton of great stuff to see. The Spry Chat Chits promotion we ran at the Summer Market was a huge success and so we will run it again for this show. Make sure you have your vendors fill out and hand you your Chat Chits and don’t forget to drop them into the box at Registration for your chance to win some great prizes. I look forward to seeing you and to chatting with you in January at the Show. It’s truly enjoyable and refreshing to hear how your store is doing and what things are working well for you. Robert Lauder Show manager.

What’s New What’s Hot – Fall ’20/Winter ‘21 Going green in brilliant colours. FOSFO is Audvik’s commitment to do more for our planet and its playgrounds. Made with 100% recycled materials, the collection offers a new line of coats designed to keep you stylishly warm while reducing your ecological footprint. 1. Woolpower Woolpower is living proof that a clothing company can provide reasonable salaries, safe employment and a working environment that people enjoy being in. Ever since the factory opened in Östersund over 50 years ago, all the garments have been sewn in Sweden using circular knitting machines to produce the sleeves, legs, body and socks for minimal amount of seams for the best durability and comfort. At Woolpower, one seamstress is responsible for sewing an entire garment, from the very first to the very last stitch. This makes the work more varied and develops their workmanship. Once the seamstress completes a garment and approves it, a label with their name is attached to it. This label is the seamstress and Woolpower’s seal of quality. Having the factory in Östersund gives Woolpower a great opportunity to work on their environmental footprint. During recent years they have taken another important step towards their sustainability goals. Waste fabric from the production line now gets recycled into popular Felt Insoles and Sit pads in three sizes. Production is certified in accordance with ISO standards.
