Porter’s Cable Tension Indoor Batting Cage is an ideal solution for maximizing space in mezzanines or other gymnasium locations with low ceiling heights. This economical 10’ high x 12’ wide x 70’ long, 1” square mesh netting cage is suspended with a wall supported cable system that spans horizontally wall to wall. Precision bearing cable roller carrier glides allow the batting cage to be easily extended or retracted. The cage can be used for either batting or golf practice, and neatly stored against a wall when not in use.

Unlike standard batting cage systems, Porter’s new indoor bottom lifting batting cage eliminates the tedious task of manually lifting the cage netting on top of the perimeter frame before raising it to the storage position, saving time and facility resources. Conversely, the cage is lowered stopping automatically at its preset height setting ready for play without any other setup requirements. This walk-draw style throwing curtain can be extended along a track into the gymnasium playing area, and for storage, retracted adjacent to a wall. The curtain’s heavy-duty 1/2” square #42A knotless netting can prevent some of the safety concerns by constraining stray javelins, balls, or throwing weights to the respective practice areas while maintaining a full coaching view of the activities that a solid panel curtain would normally obstruct.

This sleeve type ball stop system is great for keeping balls in the immediate area of play. System can be formatted across the court (length) or along the court (width). The system consists of internally ribbed aluminum alloy upright posts, 8’ high x 27’ long 1-7/8” square black nylon nets, floor sleeves, net tension winches, and protective padding. Standard kits are available in Court Length (BS01L, 3 nets) or Court Width (BS01W, 2 nets) configuration.

The No. 900 series provides outstanding rigidity by incorporating a heavy 4" structural steel channel as the critical top spreader support. The 6-5/8" diameter drop tube and 2-1/2" x 1-1/2" sway braces are secured to the horizontal support channel with full surface contact welds. This unitized frame won't flex or loosen after years of use.

Support frames are designed with a 1- /2" offset to utilize the weight of the structure to firmly and automatically lock the backstop brace system in a rigid playing position. This simple weight locking feature maximizes stability, yet does not rely on mechanical locks or latches. 1

Each hanger tests to 20,000 lb. maximum breaking strength and is designed with 5/8" diameter u-bolt support, 3/16" thick formed, diecut saddle clamp, 3/4" diameter adjustment stud for precise leveling of mast support system and 1 /2" diameter shoulder (hinge) bolts of polished, alloy steel, heat treated to a rockwell hardness of C32-43.

Adjustable Hinge Roof framing structures are not always perfect! An exclusive adjustable hanger system is standard on all of Porter’s 900 style backstops. This system allows for precise leveling of the backboard support frame to insure that the backboard is on a horizontal plane with the playing surface on every installation. Adjustable support hangers also provide for easy installation and precise plumbing of backstop frame assuring proper operation and performance. Accurate adjustability allows the installer to account for even the slightest attachment height difference (up to 1-1/2" total) without compromising attachment integrity. Three adjustable hangers are provided on installations when the attachment height is above 28'.

The Trak-Fold® rear-folding backstop is designed to provide maximum clearance over the main court playing area, leaving volleyball and badminton courts virtually free of overhead obstructions. The Trak-Fold® is designed for attachment heights from 18' to 32' and can fold backward in a compact space which would not accommodate a traditional rear-fold backstop.

Clean, unobstructed views are a bonus for players and spectators alike with Porter’s Clear-Vu series rectangular backboards and backstops. The Clear-Vu series is available in three distinct styles to meet most design applications. Attachment height will determine proper style. Each model incorporates our Uni-Frame design features to assure maximum stability, championship performance and architectural appeal. Rigidly built frame incorporates special offset backboard extension assemblies to position the 5' 9" on-center vertical supports directly behind the vertical perimeter markings on any rectangular glass backboard for a Clear-Vu through the glass. Porter‘s Clear-Vu series backstops are designed for use with rectangular backboards and may be specified with either a 204 glass or 228 wood rectangular backboard shown on page 14. ClearVu backstops are available in any folding or stationary style with manual or remotecontrolled electric operation.

Backstop superstructure is supported by fittings that have been tested as capable of supporting a load exceeding 10,000 lbs. with a 60:1 safety factor. The carrier/hanger assembly fully encompasses the track system for a structurally sound and safe attachment. Porter’s proven Center-Strut® construction eliminates the occurrence of shattered glass backboards by putting stress from crushing slam-dunks on the mast and superstructure, not on the backboard. V-guide with two-wheel carriers provides a unique tracking system, which allows the adjustable hinge mast supports to move forward as the backboard folds compactly against the wall. The sloped track weight-locks the backstop in the down position making the entire system completely rigid while in play. Includes all of Porter’s proven, high quality components including Center-Strut® vertical drop frame, 6-5/8" O.D. heavy wall structural steel, back brace assembly with folding knee joint, adjustable hangers and electric operation. Available with optional Powr-Touch® or Sportsonic® II operating systems shown on pages 8-10.

Uni-Frame Series (No. 500) For Rectangular Fiberglass or Fan-Shaped Backboards This series is available in all popular folding or stationary designs. Uni-Frame construction employs a clean, fully welded backstop design. Vertical members are fabricated of 2-3/8” O.D. pipe. Horizontal spreaders of 2-3/8” O.D. pipe are positioned on approximately 3’ centers for full weld strength and maximum structural rigidity. The Uni-Frame is designed with 2’ 11” vertical support members and will accommodate either the 216 rectangular fiberglass or any fan-shaped backboard shown on pages 14 & 15. Sportsonic® II is a wireless control system designed to operate electric winch units without conventional wall-mounted key switches. The curtain rolls very neatly on an anodized aluminum tube located in the center of the curtain. No. 640 Walk-Draw Curtain This track-type walk-draw dividing curtain can be easily operated and stacked in the smallest of building recesses or flat against a wall. May also be stacked between bleachers in an 18" separation between sections. Channel track may be formed to any radius. The neat, clean appearance of the molded inserts makes them an ideal option when cutouts are required for electrical outlets and switches. Inserts fit through field cutouts and are stapled in place on the backside of the pad.

An attractive, convenient alternative to attaching wall pads that will provide your facility with a smooth and neat appearance. The Z-Clip is an attachment method that will securely lock wall panels in place using “Z” type clips or channel systems. The Z-Clip attachment system allows worn or vandalized pads to be removed for repair or replacement by simply lifting the panel upward or removing the top trim channel.
