Target Audience:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of Health Care Practitioners involved in the care of patients with Aesthetic requests.

Program Overview:

To enhance patient care in a practice-based learning environment and in increase medical knowledge in the administration of various aesthetic procedures based upon facial anatomy. Enhanced patient care will include professionalism in the administration of aesthetic services competently, safely, and effectively for patients personalizing and tailoring these services to the individual patient, needs of the patient, and desired outcomes for the patient. Attendees will understand and learn how to avoid risks, pitfalls and health risks to patients based upon facial anatomy while increasing compliance and overall care to patients

Educational Objectives:

• Describe and identify pertinent facial anatomy in administering aesthetic and restorative services from a personalized patient perspective including indications for treatment, contraindications to treatment, managing risk, and setting patient expectations for treatment

• Perform non-invasive aesthetic services competently, safely, and effectively for their patient. Each participant will understand and learn how to avoid risks, pitfalls and associated complications due to facial anatomy presentations. Understand the underlying anatomical structures of the face and the relationship in performing safe and effective aesthetic treatments. • Understand the mechanism of action for motor and sensory nerves to the face, facial musculature, and underlying vascular and their relevance in context to aesthetic procedures, indications for treatment, and possible contraindications associated with aesthetic treatments.

• Review facial vasculature, facial ligaments, neural anatomy, facial musculature, and tissue characteristics that effect outcomes from aesthetic treatments to increase patient awareness and provide for enhanced patient care.

Learning Outcome:

To provide learners with a foundation to understand facial neuroanatomy, facial vascular, muscular, fat pad, and ligament anatomy to better understand aesthetic procedures and treatments.
